ABC iView has finally done soomit great and suddenly dumped the entirety of WHITECHAPEL online.
You wouldn't believe the trouble I had last year trying to watch it (a show that was already well over a decade old!). Talk about an exercise in frustration. Oh-it's-available-through-Prime! Great, D has a Prime subscription. No, it's not on Australian Prime. Fine. Oh-it's-on-Britbox! Fantastic, I have a Britbox subscription. NO. It's not on Australian Britbox. Fuckssake. Oh-if-you've-got-a-library-card-you-can-join-hoopla-and-stream-it-there. *sigh* *joins library* *signs up to hoopla* They only have the first series (3 eps) and you can only "stream" two episodes of tv per week.
This is what the culture of streaming has done to tv. Even platforms (plural) that we PAY FOR withhold material they make available elsewhere. This all fucking sucks. arrgghghhh
Anyway. Three weeks ago, the ABC dumped all four series onto iView, so yay. Go us. What a win for Australia. *sigh*
(i started rewatching it last night and D pauses in the loungeroom, sees Pembo and says "Ooh! Is this more Inside Number Nine?!" Ah, I wish, mate.)
