ATEEZ PERFUME REVIEW: BALMAIN — IVOIRE

disclaimer: this is not meant to be a serious perfume review, this is something fun for me to do as I love perfume. each and every one of us have different tastes and preferences when it comes to fragrances. what works for me might not work for you, vice versa. I’ll try my best to describe the scents but I will always suggest for you to go and smell them yourself before purchase. if you want to try these perfumes, please test or get a sample before committing to the bottle. picture credits to all owners.

my scent experience:

the fragrance opening is a very heavy white floral scent from the tuberose and it's very powdery as well. as it settles, it becomes woody from the vetiver, and it slowly starts to smell like leather, which isn't my favorite scent, but I don't mind it. once the perfume dries down, it smells warm from the suede, but it still smells like leather. the best way to describe this scent is someone wearing a leather jacket and is holding a bouquet of white flowers — tuberoses to be exact. I wish I could smell the grapefruit and orange blossom but it's straight up a tuberose and leather scent.

the projection is alright, you can definitely smell it but it's not too strong that it bothers me. the longevity was about 8 hours on me which is pretty good and definitely suitable for day and night. I understand why some people would like this fragrance and I get the appeal, but it's not one that I would gravitate towards immediately and it's not my favorite from the collection. I do think this would be a perfect scent for the colder seasons so if you like warm woody scents, this would work for you. if you don't like the smell of tuberose and/or leather, this is not for you.

additional notes from me:

I love Balmain and I love fragrances so when they relaunched their fragrances, I was so excited to try them out. they released these a few months after I left Paris, so I didn't get the chance to try them out while I was there and I wasn't sure when I would get my hands on them, until my friend bought me the discovery collection, I did ask for it hehe. I didn't test them right away because I remembered Hongjoong saying he was going to give one perfume to each member as there were eight of them, but he did mention that he used Ivoire the other day and said he's keeping that one so that's where I started. I'm still waiting for him to tell us which Balmain fragrance each member has so I can upload more reviews, so Hongjoong if you're reading this, let us know when you get the chance.

who would I recommend this to?

anyone who likes the scent of tuberose and/or leather.

those who want a fragrance that is suitable for day and night.

anyone who wants to try out Balmain fragrances.

FINISHED ALL THE REFS OF MY SKELE-OCS SO FAR!!!!

hhh they took so long to digitalize cause of school but they’re here!!! :’D

i do have a little storyline going for them and some facts so with no particular order, here’s some of them:

-aroma and ivoire are siblings. aroma being the oldest (20+ year old-ish) and ivoire being 17 -aroma raised their sister alone ever since the departure of their dad (and left them with his antique shop, which aroma now owns) -aroma also runs a steadily growing flower business aside from also running the antique shop -cynid is aroma’s partner after some pining  -vinlo is studying to become a graphic designer and is so far the second oldest of them all (23+ish) -cynid and doze are both studying to become physico-chemists -vinlo, cynid and doze are roommates -doze and lena are also siblings (don’t interact as much anymore due to work but will visit from time to time) -lena is a physics engineer and is the oldest of everyone here (27)

that’s it for now!! i honestly just felt like drawing baggy clothes at first and it went downhill from there xD

i’m planning on drawing illustrations for at least one of them soon so stay tuned >:Dc
