Home: Sickness
We are the same person
A: Only she can sing
B: And she can draw
A: Meh. Sort of. Anyways.
We are the same person
B: Living the teenage American dream
A: both from military families
B: both at the tender age of 18
A: Both graduated the same school
B: same year
Same. In our own shades
B: She is literally one of the most intelligent and creative and perceptive and gorgeous people ever
A: and she is… all of those things but better. Plus devious and conniving, but trust me that’s just her exterior
B: So maybe we’re a little different
A: until it comes to our ideas of the world
We are… similar enough
B: I hate people
A: but in the way you tell your lover you hate them
B: Smile slyly hanging out on your mouth and the crinkle of your sparkling eyes.
A: I think people are inherently stupid
B: but in all the ways that don’t make them robots
A: All the stunts that could kill us and all those stupid emotions too intensely felt.
B: No.
A: Wait.
We are the same person
B: Both falling into the despair of watching a loved one crumble
A: of watching a loved one not recognize their own face
B: of watching red white and blue shred on the ends and fade in the spotlight of the sun
A: of watching death
B: become the norm
A: as schools are shot up
B: walls are put up
A: facades kept up
B: people locked up
All the while our hearts are torn up!
Not knowing what to do
A: how to help
B: who to help
If I am capable of helping
In this helpless pitiful form catcalled in the street,
Never taken seriously,
always underrated,
although educated,
watching!
Waiting!
-
We are the same person.
In two different shades.
With the love of our country
Never fading
A: just not living up to her greatest potential
