Part 1: lSweaterl Izuku Midoriya
It had been almost two months since you first met Izuku’s friends. He had kept inviting you to hang out with them, apparently they enjoyed your company.
You mostly talked to Todoroki, you both got along well. You two had the same dry humor and bluntness.
You and Izuku’s friends were currently hanging out at the mall.
While walking you saw a fabric in the window of a store that captivated you.
It had a emerald green base and gold embroidered leaves on it. You often went window shopping for fabrics with Izuku.
Thoughts of Izuku dampened your mood.
Izuku didn’t even look at you. He always would when you got excited about fabrics. Instead he was staring at her, holding her hand as she talked with Tsu.
“Are you okay?” Todoroki breaks you out of your thoughts. “You looked excited but then you just looked sad.”
“I’m fine,” You didn’t put on a fake smile. Todoroki had proven that he was quite preservative of emotions. “I wonder how much that fabric costs? Probably too much.”
“I can pay for it,” Todoroki offered. “I have my father’s credit card with me.”
“Really?” Todoroki nodded. “Thanks!”
You and Todoroki walked out of the fabric store, you carrying a few yards of fabric, to hear Uraraka telling Tsu a story.
“-and then he took me to this hidden waterfall at that park we went to!” Uraraka chatted excitedly. “Apparently no one else knows it’s there. Isn’t that romantic, it’s like, our secret spot!”
You stopped walking, any warmth and happiness you had gotten from buying the fabric was sucked from your body.
You knew the place Uraraka was talking about, you had been the one to show it to Izuku. You two spent most of your time out of school there. You had both promised to never show anyone else the area. It was YOUR secret spot.
You could feel your heart break all over again.
You snapped yourself out of your trance and walked over to the others.
“Hey guys,” You greeted with faux happiness. “I don’t think the food agreed with me, I’m gonna walk home.”
Tsu, Uraraka and Iida all confirmed they heard you, Izuku didn’t even look at you.
“All walk you hoe,” Todoroki said. “There was a villain attack near the area, it’ll be safer if one of us goes with you.”
“Okay,” You didn’t have the strength to argue.
You two spent most of the walk in silence, Todoroki didn’t ask about the tears streaming down your face and you didn’t ask about the slightly heartbroken look on his face.
“It was our spot,” You spoke up. “The place he took Uraraka, it was our spot. I showed it to him and we both promised to never show anyone else. But you probably know that’snot exactly the reason I’m crying.”
“It’s the same reason as me,” Todoroki mumbled.
“You mean the reason you look so heartbroken,” Todoroki nods. “I’ve liked him for two years now. Back when everyone thought he was quirkless I was the only one that stayed. We did everything together, we promised we would never forget the other, but now that’s all he seems to do.”
“He was the first person I opened up to,” Todoroki explained. “He was the first person to try and succeed at helping me. He helped me accept myself and helped me with my trauma. When they started dating it made me wonder if the universe was messing with me. The first person I like likes someone else. But I realized I wasn’t alone, you get the feeling don’t you, it feels so cold.”
“Like dementors from Harry Potter,” You hummed. “The feeling like nothing will ever get better, like nothing will ever be happy again.” You sighed. “It always feels cold.”
“Like you don’t deserve love,” Todoroki agreed.
“At least you have other people,” You looked at the ground. “I don’t have many friends at my school. And the ones I do have aren’t very close. But besides,” You had reached your house. “Someone does like you. It’s not Izuku but he looks you like you hung the stars. Thanks for walking me home.”
You walk into the house and wipe away your tears, you didn’t feel as alone anymore.
