The Sunday Herald has a new profile actor David Thewlis. In this funny and candid interview (note:slight language caution to parents) David discusses his new novel, his various acting roles, and mentions his return as Remus Lupin the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Noting that he has been pleased with all the Harry Potter films to date, David Thewlis recounts his meeting with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling:
“She was really lovely,” he says. “She said she was very happy I was playing the part. Actually, she said Lupin was her favourite character. I said, Well put him in it more then.’”
No word on what David Thewlis thought about the role and adventures of Remus Lupin in the final installment in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As reported previously, production is now underway on the sixth Harry Potter film, with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince due in theaters November 21, 2008.

Remus Lupin DID deserve to have more time in the tomes. Remus was James and Lily’s (Harry’s parents) best and closest friend .... Harry deserved to have spent more time with Remus. I just don’t understand why Remus wasn’t around more since Harry re-met him back in third year .... I mean Remus didn’t have to remain teaching at Hogwarts for his relationship with Harry to grow .... Remus could be writing to Harry .... Harry could have worked out meeting with Remus in Hogsmede weekends ... Remus could have visited with Harry at Hogwarts.
I just don’t understand why we don’t hear anything about Remus (even Harry doesn’t even think of the man) until we see Remus in book five. That’s just plain wrong.
Harry deserved to grow a stronger bond with Remus ... then when in book seven Harry stands up to Remus and orders him back to his wife; and unborn child’s side instead of going on the quest with the trio ... then that’s way more powerful. It would be way more powerful learning that Remus assigned Harry as Teddy’s godfather if Harry got to spend years with Remus helping guiding his life ... and his growth into man hood.
Harry needed more Remus ... and us readers needed more Remus.

Celebrities and artists just don’t seem to get it. Most of the people that enjoy your work don’t enjoy your politics. It’s always a good rule when you work for the public or sell directly to them to keep your political and religious opinions to yourself. J.K. Rowlings, the author of the Harry Potter series has gone off the deep end lately tweet at Trump and calling him an “autocrat” among other…
