Concept: Contributors will have about 2 weeks to complete a mini piece that features: a character chosen by random... and the color assigned to the character.

Colors: each character has ONE specific shade of color you need to use
Rating: SFW, PG
Canon Compliant — any timeline is okay.
Characters: A random character will be assigned to you in the server — more info once you get into the server
Zine Specs: Free-Download, Digital PDF Only
Artists: 1748 x 757 px, horizontal
Writers: 3,000 words, max

What is a zine?
New to zines? Check out zinebaby.carrd.co/ for some general information.
For this project, a zine is a digital PDF that consist of art and fics.
Who can participate?
Anyone who applies during the application period.
No previous experience required.
💌 What types of mediums are allowed?
Any medium (that is pdf compatible) is allowed as long as you can crop, edit, color-correct to match the zine guidelines and prepare your piece accordingly.
💌 Contributor Expectations:
Adhere to the guidelines
English speaking: mandatory.
Discord attendance: mandatory.
Let a mod know you need to drop: required.
Final deadline: non-negotiable.
Do not publish your work before the zine is released.
Portfolio Requirements
No portfolio is required
💌 Content Restrictions and Guidelines:
No OCs
You must focus your RNG chosen character
You must include the color assigned to your character (writers your fics will basically just be set in that color but bonus points if you can someone include it as a vibe)
You can include other characters as supporting characters (optional)
Canon MC only — yes... you can not draw her eyes... to stay true to mystic messenger
Using the color palette:
Every character has ONE color you must use/include.
Artists: It does NOT have to be monochromatic. You can pair it with other colors of your choosing. (Think Huevember or even the color palette challenge)
Writers: How you interpret and incorporate the color into your piece is up to you. The color will be used as the accents on your fic page. Any association kind of association is valid.

It’s been a while since I played Mystic Messenger and I’m lacking sleep right now but whatever. I also may have picked some weird details for some of these? idk? Enjoy. Or don’t. I can’t tell you what to do.

Jumin: Ushijima Wakatoshi. You can’t change my mind about this. He takes blurry pictures and can seem uptight and difficult to talk to sometimes. He works under his father at a company that makes sports clothing and does a lot of advertisement stuff. He doesn’t have a cat though. He got one years ago but 707 stole it. He was too upset to get another cat so now he has a duck. He loves this duck very much.
707: Kuroo Tetsurou. A wild child but eats slightly better than the real 707. He’s an annoyance and a jokester/memester most of the time and hacks his friends to leave weird things on their desktops. Especially Ushijima. He also loves cats and stole Kenma from Ushijima years ago.
Elizabeth the 3rd: Kenma. He’s a real cat now. Furballs, fancy cat food, and being annoyed by his owner are his life. Though he’s a smart cat that sometimes tries to play video games with Kuroo. He’s not bad... but he’s a cat so he actually has no idea what he’s doing. He lives a good life though. Kuroo’s annoying but he’s found some good hiding spots.
Zen: Terushima Yuuji. He models and acts and flirts with way too many women. He’s got a motorcycle too and even gets Ushijima on it sometimes.
Yoosung: Hinata Shouyo. Wild, anxious, and not the brightest bulb in the pack sometimes. He’s bounced around so many clubs at college, being the life of them for a short time before moving on. He has no idea what he wants to do with his life except work at a good company. He’s the youngest of the group but he always tries his best.
Unknown: Kyoutani Kentarou. He’s got a similar vibe? He’s actually Kuroo’s cousin though, not twin, and he finds Kuroo extremely annoying. He’s a loner and keeps to himself
V: Sugawara Koushi. Poor Mama Suga... He’s a painter instead of photographer, but has been losing his sight more and more so his once very realistic paintings look more like modern art. He tried to love Kiyoko back in high school but things did not go well. When she started going down a bad path, he tried to help her but could not. He thinks she’s dead.
Rika: Kiyoko Shimuzu. Tbh I don’t hate any character enough to make them Rika so I’m just going with this She’s not terrible. She didn’t start an awful cult or anything but she did do some bad stuff to Suga in their relationship. She just dealt with too many idiots in her life and lost her sanity? I don’t really know. But things between her and Suga were bad and ended badly and it was bad.
Jahee: Yachi Hitoka. Poor anxious tired woman constantly startled by her big silent boss, Ushijima, popping up behind her with another assignment when SHE ALREADY HAS FIFTY THINGS TO DO DAMN IT LEAVE THE GIRL ALONE! Anyway, she works hard and is good at her job but she would love to be a baker one day. She dreams of it. And if she ever gets the guts to leave this stupid job, she will open her own bakery. And maybe Kiyoko isn’t as bad as Rika and actually realizes what she’s done and becomes a better person and Yachi helps her and then they open a bakery together. Idk.
Vanderwood: Iwaizumi Hajime. Idk. But he seems annoyed enough. He just wants to do his job and not deal with Kuroo, Kyoutani, and Kenma. But you can’t always get what you want. At least they are mildly less annoying than the brown hair kid he hung out with in his youth... but Oikawa is dead now because he got too close to Iwaizumi, so Iwaizumi tries not to think about him much.
