The association

Redrew their adult versions bc I really need to diversify unique features while also portraying their personalities... Which while I think it's an improvement, I don't think I've quite nailed it yet. May rework some of the minor features, particularly the eyes.

Some notes on the design choice:

Jacques & Kit - they're twins halves of the same whole to me, so they have the same face, just different vibes. Jacques is supposed to give the impression of a cool, strict, if a lil cold older brother, while Kit is the more carefree, also cool, affectionate older sister.

Lemony - I added scars from when Stew beat him up. His eyes are the same as his siblings.

Moxie - Other than polishing up the structure of her face and adding freckles, I think I really got her right from the get-go. 10/10 no further notes.

Cleo - She's supposed to look intimidating and regal, her hair is meant to evoke a "queen". She looks fierce, but she's nicer than she looks.

Jake - when he was younger, his hair is curlier and down, now he has it styled. He's meant to look friendly.

Ellington - doesn't look mysteriously enough ngl, but she does have femme fatale vibes. Kinda.

Lizzie - literally just Hedy Lamarr in terms of face. I really want a look that screams "STARLET", so she's the prettiest/most elegant looking here.

Kellar - my intention for him is that bc of his harried and anxious nature, he gives off the impression of being unapproachable and unpleasant.

Squeak - the youngest of the group, he grew up but still maintaining that core mischievousness. He looks a lot like Pip.

Pip - forgot to draw his glasses, anyways he looks more of a refined gentleman here bc he's now officially a librarian, a prestigious job.

Ornette - meant to look classy, enigmatic, and amiable. Perfect for a hotel proprietor.

This is my costume idea for it atwq were to ever get adapted

I think the kids (talking about Lemony, Moxie, Jake, Cleo, Bellerophons, Keller, Ornette) would have too large of accessory pieces that shouldn’t fit them. It’s almost like the accessories are for adults. For example:

Lemony would have a large coat

Moxie would have a long tie

Jake would have too big of an apron

Cleo’s glasses are too big

The bellerophon’s hats are too big

Keller’s bow tie is too large

Ornette has too big of a hat

This is meant to symbolize they are filling adult roles they shouldn’t have to. Two kids under the age of 10 shouldn’t drive a taxi, but somebody does and their guardian let them down so they have to. Jake shouldn’t be running a restaurant by himself, but his parents left so he has no other choice. Cleo’s parents let her down, same with Moxie’s, and Keller’s, and Ornette’s so they all have to fill their guardians roles. Again this is just meant to symbolize the overall theme of the useless adults in this series

also I think their overall costumes would match the color scheme of each book.

— uhh idk why but I'd get the vibe that he wouldnt do much to his profile

— in my head, kit wouldve told him to get it & he didnt, regrets it now so when moxie tells him to get it he does it the next day

— his friends on there are the associates, but hes following kit as well who can't follow him back yet because shes still in jail

— would get hooked on reels and sends them in the dead of night

Moxie

— would use it more for networking & journalism

— the posts are her family, the news, her typewriter, & the lighthouse

— her highlights are her promoting the mallahan news & her self

— same thing about the followers and following, but maybe she'd have a few others from networking (i kinda miscounted. sorry)

— i kinda thought she was a blondie

— would also run a seperate acc for the actual news

Ellington

— yeah i was thinking that maaaybe shed use the nickname Elli or something. but idk why i didnt do it

— would try to find her father this way like “have u seen my dad” 😭

Hello everyone, my name is Jake Hix and I'm a chef at Hungry's diner. If you're a friend in need, I'll probably give you a free meal (just don't tell my aunt, Hungry). It's really hard to run a delicious business in a town indifferent to taste, so please stop in to give a friendly hello.

Favorites: I don't really listen to much music, but if I had to pick, smooth jazz would probably take the cake. I do a lot of reading (I do that when things are slow in the diner) and I'd have to say my favorite book is The Physiology of Taste by Brillat- Savarin. I think my favorite meal to make is a simple grilled chevré sandwich. I do like to experiment with my cooking though.
