you hated mornings. you hate it when the sun decides to be up and bright at 6am while there you are, deep asleep in dreamland. having jake as your boyfriend however, meant that you were dating a morning person.
“good morning, love.” he slowly but carefully (he knows how grumpy you get) wakes you up. “happy valentine’s day,” he presses a kiss on your temple.
you could only hum in response, to which jake laughs lightly. “i’ll go ahead and make us some breakfast.” you nod and slowly stretch as you see the brunette leave the room heading towards the kitchen. “don’t fall asleep again!” he yells from the hallway.
you take your time making the bed and washing up a bit before heading to the kitchen. to your surprise, you see jake holding a teddy bear. “you got me a teddy bear? aww that is so cute!” you approach the big brown stuffed toy. “so you have something to cuddle whenever i’m not around. do you like it?”
“yeah! it looks just like you, even your hair color matches the bear so well.”
jake cooked perfectly done eggs on toast and prepared tea just how you liked it. and when you have a good boyfriend who takes care of you like this, you decide that early mornings aren’t so bad.

“can i call you baby?” jake starts to sing to which you continue, “can you be my friend?” you were both in the car, driving to your date. ever since jake has got his permit, he’s been meaning to take you to the drive-in theater he found.
driving with jake means singing along to the different playlists he’s created for you. you’ve lost count of how many there are, but jake makes playlists that remind him of you. they range from sad playlists that are titled for when i miss y/n to romantic playlists like stargazing with y/n.
“stick by my side even when the world is caving in?” he lets go of one hand on the steering wheel and slowly reach for yours. once he was holding your hand, he pulls it closer to him, rubbing circles with his thumb. he presses your hand against his lips, making your cheeks tinge a shade of pink.
“i’ll be there whenever you need me,” you look at him from your seat, and catch his eyes looking at you. the moment your eyes meet, you smile before teasing him to keep his eyes on the road!!!
you go through more songs and more dramatic sing-alongs until a slower song plays.

the drive-in theater was having a romantic movie marathon, so jake brought comforters and small pillows and was prepared with snacks as well. throughout the entire movie, jake would hold your hand and play with your fingers if the scenes got boring.
he fell asleep at one point, and you don't miss this chance to take a quick photo of him. quickly setting it as your lockscreen, you smile to yourself and think about how lucky you are to have been loved by jake sim.
after the movies have been played, jake pretended that he was awake throughout the entire evening and kept trying to talk about the scenes he remembered, “she recited the poem for him! it went like ‘but mostly i don’t hate you, not even a little bit’ or something like that…”
“so did they end up together?” you teasingly ask.
“... i think?” poor boy looked so confused and felt bad that he fell asleep.
driving back home, the two of you talked about everything and nothing. jake never failed to make you feel comfortable. he was both your best friend and boyfriend, someone you could talk to endlessly.
you both settle for a drive-through meal for dinner. although you could feel your back getting sore from being cramped inside the car most of the day, nothing beats a valentines date with jake.

from such a long day, both of you were exhausted and quickly washed up before jumping into the bed. jake was already under the covers until he saw you come into the bedroom wearing one of his hoodies. although your heights weren’t drastically different, his frame was still bigger than yours. meaning, you were drowning in his hoodie.
jake, being star-crossed in love with you, immediately reaches his arms out and asks for a cuddle. “y/nnnn come here.” god, he probably looks like the 🥺 emoji.
you giggle at the sight of a man, who is 176 cm tall and has an intimidating gaze, turn into a puddle of cuteness once he’s around you.
you give in and climb up the bed. jake spoons you as soon as you were under the covers. you could feel both of your heartbeats going in sync with each other. he plays with your hair for a bit, and you give in to your drowsiness. but before you could fall asleep, you tell jake, “i’m not going anywhere without you.”
