HC request: What each of the bat clan does on Father’s Day. Thank you!❤️

(assuming this is after Asha was born and a LOT of therapy happened)

As a Whole— They do a potluck style dinner, and it’s fairly open invitation? They overlap with a lot of the other superhero families lol

Individually—

I haven’t decided on Duke having kids, but I like him and Izzy together, so lemme cook more on that.

Steph and Cass help their boys make cards for their Poppop (Bruce) and their uncles. Jason might be their sperm donor, but he is just their Uncle Jason.

Besides, Jason gets to spend the day with his daughter, Dahlia, cooking. I can see it as a way for him to unlearn bad lessons about knives while also connecting with her.

Dick had both Mar’i and Jack show up the day before (with his grandkids when they start showing up) for a movie-Spa night. They give him their full attention and love and it’s all he could ask for. The day of he goes to Gotham Cemetery and leaves flowers for his dad.

Damian got woken to his daughter and wife making breakfast, laughing at some silly joke. Asha carefully picked his gift herself and it’s always things for his art. Irey might get him a weapon if he’s had his eye on something, but I think she gets him flowers every single year.

Tim and Kon switch years with the Kent’s vs the Wayne’s. But they always make the effort to see their families that weekend. Gracie, their daughter, makes them individualized cards each year. Cassie and Yara take her shopping to get them things. Idk Gracie seems simultaneously chaotic and organized. Like she gets them things they NEED, but in the craziest way. Like she got Kon an apron (which he’d been saying he needed) but it said “Heterosexuality? In this economy?”

Oh and Bruce wakes up to which every kids are in the house (usually Helena after a certain point), bringing him coffee in his “World’s Okay-est Dad” mug and the threat if he tries to Batman things, his grandchildren/great-grandchildren will be unleashed upon him. Honestly? He believes the threat.

How do Steph and cass make things accessible for their boys in the house since they are deaf?

Well, the first thing they did was they got a video/light doorbell. So a light flashes in the living room and a video recording pops up on one of the screens in their rooms (all a closed circuit thanks to Auntie Babs). The boys know never to answer the door without Mama (Steph) or Mommy (Cass)

They also have a flashing fire alarm in every room of the house. These are BRIGHT ASS lights and they’re in a place that’s different from the doorbell lights.

Timers on the bathroom and kitchen sinks (because the boys will leave the water running on accident)

When the boys are older, bed shaker alarm clocks to wake them up for school and a video phone (it has an interpreter line so they can communicate with friends and family without too much hassle)

Cass in particular wanted the boys to have a way to communicate. She pushed for all of them to learn ASL, which most of them had a decent grasp of already. She didn’t want her boys to struggle like she did

3. Well, Tim has a daughter with Kon, Gracie, but yeah, they’re very close with Gracie and Dahlia and Asha. Like they’re a group of menaces as kids. They practically have their own language, what with Dahlia being blind and the boys being deaf

Can you talk about some of the differences between how cass was raised versus how she is raising her sons

Like for example, when cass was being molded into “ra’s perfect bodyguard” , food was fuel. That was it. There was no such thing as dessert or midnight snack. When she did get food, it was very little and very bland

And now with the stephcass , how they have desserts and late night runs to big belly burger

Honestly, Steph and Cass make active choices to give their sons better lives than either of them had.

Do they teach their boys how to defend themselves? Absolutely! But when Jameson has a nightmare, he knows he can run to Mommy (Cass) and she’ll make him feel safe. If Henry is still hungry after eating all his dinner, he knows Mama has the best dessert ideas.

They aren’t denied language or made to feel like love is conditional.

They don’t flinch when their moms reach out to hug them.

They know when they’re going to eat next, that they don’t have to worry about bills or be fearful of losing their home. They don’t live in a mansion and obviously Bruce wouldn’t let his grandkids go hungry, but that security is something their moms didn’t have.

When they’re fully grown, if anyone even looks at their moms the wrong way, they practically appear behind them.

What does a day with the family look like with the stephcass fam

We’ll say this is a weekend with 2 year old Henry and 4 year old Jameson—

Whoever was on patrol the night before gets to sleep in at least an extra hour or so. The other gets the boys up for some cartoons and cuddles. They rotate through a few quickly and easy breakfasts, but take the time to sign with their boys. Asking about the “pictures in their eyes” as Jameson once called his dreams.

Get ready for the day. They like to give their boys a few choices in terms of clothes, make funny faces as they brush their hair, and get them settled on the bed while Steph and Cass get ready. Steph always calls them her “Beautiful Boys”, so when they see her asking Mommy how she looks, they’ll be signing on the bed “Beautiful, beautiful”

Weekends they try to go to a farmers market or flea market. Something together as a family. They go to a park to run around, get lunch at a favorite Mexican nearby.

The boys go down for a nap in their mom’s bed (Cass and Steph don’t technically co-sleep, they just feel safer knowing the boys are in one place.) Steph and Cass SHOULD use the time to clean, and they do, but they also spend some time just relaxing together. Reconnecting with each other after a busy week. Usually dinner is something in the crock pot.

Boys wake up and they play together. Cass and Steph primarily sign with them. They give their sons their full attention during playtime.

Dinner proceeds bedtime routine—Bath (even just a winddown bath), pajamas, bedtime stories and cuddles. Whichever mom is on patrol that night helps get the boys down, kisses their heads, then gets suited up.

There’s a lot of communication that goes into their life, but they wouldn’t trade it or their sons for the world

what powers does asha have

the generation of bat kids that comes after mari, Damian, Tiffany and nell, so Steph, Tim and Jasons' kids, who becomes a hero

1. Asha doesn’t necessarily have powers, meaning she’s not connected to the speedforce enough to run like her mother, but she has the mind of a speedster. She

2. I like to think their kids—Jameson, Henry, Gracie, and Dahlia— aren’t heroes in the traditional sense. They’re more…..reconnaissance. Use the Wayne name to get into places, Dahlia and the boys using their disabilities (Dahlia’s completely blind, Jameson and Henry are deaf) to make people underestimate them, and Gracie acting as a diplomat. Don’t underestimate them.

They walk into a party like this, making their various partners weak in the knees.

Bonus is Henry, their younger son, is bulkier than his brother.

And they’re used to taking down people bigger than them. Plus that’s their baby boy

1. I think so, yeah, they just trade off nights. If there’s a situation where they’re both needed, the boys are with Auntie Babs, which puts both Cass and Steph at ease

2. They’re about 26-27 when Jamison’s born, 28-29 when Henry’s born.

3. Yeah, but they help with a lot more reconnaissance missions. Being deaf, the boys have gear that’s very sensitive to sound. I like to think they each take over one of their moms titles
