The city's old fortress-like prison, the Tombs, was placed on sale by the city in October 1941, and was still looking for bidders when this picture was taken on January 21, 1942. (A new prison, also known as The Tombs, had been built the year before.) Only one offer was made in the 14 weeks since the listing, and the city decided it was too low. It was the bidder’s proposal to use the Tombs as a chamber of horrors and later convert it to an indoor polo field. Eventually it was torn down.

Child actors, employed with increasing frequency onstage and in radio, had a drama school of their own in the 1930s. The Juvenile Theatre of Art trained them and gave them an opportunity to act in repertory company at Carnegie Hall. It produced four plays in the 1937-38 season for paid audiences. This was the stage door on January 21, 1938.

Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian OC Ref. Sheet
This is Tigerfrost (Also known as Frosty), this Blog's main OC! I originally made her for Demise 4 back in 2021 off of a backpack I'd bought a couple of years earlier from a cool collector's shop. She was put in OC retirement while I focused on a Minecraft SMP I was on until she was pulled back out for this blog around July-ish 2022. My original ref is here, which I'm currently still using, but I do plan to change it soon because my style is outdated on it and a lot has changed in c!Tigerfrost's story.
I've been really inspired by @/all-yn-oween's and @/lidensword's NATM2 OC's, so this is my NATM version of Frosty! They are an exhibit on Children's and Young Teen's media in the Smithsonian. The Cats are promotional cardboard cut-outs for the books that came to life through the power of the Tablet.
(favorite bits, and more about Applebreeze, Fawnpelt, Craneclaw, and Poppypool, and general about their world under the cut!)

If you’ve always wanted to be a supervisor of the checklist, school district clerk, or hold some other elected office in area towns, here’s your chance: The filing period for the 2015 races starts Wednesday, Jan. 21. All New Hampshire towns – but not cities, like Nashua, – and their associated school districts will hold elections for offices ranging from high-profile seats like selectman and school board member to obscure ones such as cemetery trustee. The filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30. Candidates can file with their local town or school district clerk. Want to run for local office? Filing period starts Wednesday, Jan. 21
Frozen
Her fingers are frosted
As she turns to me
Blueberry lips parted
Breath puffing in smaller and smaller clouds
Cheeks fading from candy apple to moonstarch
Until she is gone,
Frozen
