I remember when I was in the Shadowhunters fandom and we were all dead certain there would be a fourth season. All the cast were tweeting about it and heading to the upfronts and then, poof, it was cancelled.

Maybe that's why I'm not going to relax until we have 100% confirmation.

Ouch, poor fandom! It's true, no renewal is ever guaranteed prior to the announcement, and even now, shows are getting renewed and then canceled sometimes months after the renewal notice. It's such a weird television climate where nothing is secure.

If I ever get too worried, I think back to these words Jared shared with Variety during the changeover:

“I am aware that the only constant in this life is change... My only job is to do the best damn job I can do. And so let the chips fall where they may. If I do the best work I can do, and it doesn’t work out, then I can sleep soundly at night going, ‘well, I gave it my all.’”

So, I will do the best I can do to support my favorite shows and "let the chips fall where they may".
