I like to think that jason does NOT like commercial flying. he’d rather fly himself for several hours than sit in a plane. like he knowssss that pilots are trained professionals, and planes are safe, thats not what he’s worried about. I think that planes specifically make him EXTREMELY hyperactive. usually he’s got it pretty “under control” (masking) but on a plane?? theres absolutely no hope for him to be chill. because he’s in his element but trapped in a box cramped ?? surrounded by a bunch of people ??? he’s suddenly very full of energy and very not able to express it - his legs are bouncing so much the entire seat is shaking, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom every 10 minutes (not actually doing anything. just walking), he’s rocking back and forth, he’s bothering the shit out of reyna (or whoever else he knows that has the bad luck to be sat next to him), he’s getting NO sleep no matter how long the flight is.

it’s like how you’re not supposed to keep goldfish in a classic fishbowl, in a way. let him free

the plot is the same as canon, him being trans doesn’t change too much overall. anyway he was very heavily closeted while at camp jupiter, out to nobody. sometimes he’d think small wishes about not having tits or being a guy, but it was never said out loud. NOBODY knew.

except for juno. who was hearing a lot of those wishes (cuz she was snooping in his brain). anyway while she’s kidnapping him to put in the greek camp, she’s like. why not throw him a bone. she lowk just thinks of jason as a guy at this point (hashtag ALLY 😍) because she’s been tuned into his brain for awhile. anyway she gives him magical top surgery, a haircut, a small backpack with like 8 months of t shots, and a new name. thats right. she picked his fucking name. all things considered he’s fine with all the changes except for the lack of agency. but he’s kinda used to it so eh. like he’s mad that she did all that. but at the same time it’s really really nice to not be drowning in dysphoria and wanting to die every time you have to do anything at all (cuz there is no way in hell camp jupiter has any gender neutral anything at this point in time).

it’s a really fun au cuz half the time jason’s like “I SHOULD be mad, and I AM, but like… shrug” at whatever hera is doing. like the whole memory thing he’s not cool with, and her picking his name kinda sucks, but… free testosterone? free top surgery? passing easily? kiiiiiiinda hard to be mad about
