Jasper headcanon go
Woof okay I want to preface this by saying that it is not my job to determine how anyone views Jasper, so please, if you hate him or choose to ignore him, please feel free to skip this.
That being said, I feel alright to do this, as I do have a few Jas hcs in my pocket.
As the climate shifted toward awareness and acceptance, Jasper's attention shifted inward.
He took a deep look into the bottom of his soul and asked himself the important questions, like why he'd done what he'd done, why he felt it was okay, how he could continue to go on knowing the pain he'd caused en entire community?
In answer, he essentially did what my wifey, @bellasredchevy, suggested in her excellent post. He started murdering his philosophical descendants, trying one racist at a time to fix his mistakes.
As time went on, he realized this wasn't the solution. He'd still do it, of course, but he could be doing more. So he started funding.
He funneled cash into campaigns and movements and people who needed it. People who could make a difference.
In the meantime, on his day to day, his favorite thing in the world is to be Alice's model.
He lets her do whatever she wants to his face, his hair, his clothing.
He'll sit still for hours as she works, allowing her to work her magic.
The others make a few comments on his new look every other day, but they know he's just encouraging her creativity.
He completely uses his powers to cheat at anything he can.
He shifts Edward's mood as he lands on Park Place from excitement to indifference, leading him to leave it unclaimed.
He and Edward have a fistfight later over his honor.
He and Emmett are BOTH great brothers to Bella, keeping her both wild and grounded in her new life.
He's a constant and a very good listener.
Jasper's favorite band is Jimmy Eat World and he picks up his guitar to play alongside Edward during his piano sessions.
They absolutely have a band.
Jasper's life is surrounded by love, and he, even more than Edward, believes he doesn't deserve it.
"How can anyone love me, Ali Cat? I'm a monster. I'm more of a monster than any of you."
"It's because you know it, Jazzy. It's because you've made your mistakes and you own them and you try to atone. It's because you don't deserve it, and that's what grace is."
He's just a simple cowboy in the 21st century trying to live life.
(He's doing a really bad job of it.)
