So, I was thinking about Bobby from Julie and the Phantoms, and:
Imagine what Bobby must have felt! His friends, presumably best friends, went out to eat some street dogs while he flirted with a pretty girl. Biggest night of their lives. Show's time is getting closer and closer and still nothing of the others.
Maybe he thought they were pranking him, pretending to arrive last minute. Or maybe it did pass through his head that something serious happened, but I doubt "omg they died" was even in his top ten list of thoughts of what could have gone wrong.
Maybe, and this is kind of besides the point, just me throwing around ideas, he played that show on the Orpheum by himself (with Luke's songs), because the guys didn't show, and he didn't know what to do, and they had a full house, so he just.... played on his own (which maybe kickstarted him stealing Luke's songs, because people liked them). Then finally, somehow, maybe on the news, or maybe he gets a call, he finds out what happened.
And suddenly his three best friends are gone, dead. The last time they spoke, they were teasing him about flirting with Rose. Just that, he didn't even get to say goodbye. And he could have died too! If he had gone with them, he would be dead too.
And maybe that's how he gets into therapy. Maybe his parents took him to it (if we assume Julie's house used to be Bobby's, then it'd make sense that he got along with his parents alright).
Then, years later, after creating a whole new persona to maybe escape his dead friends, (which still doesn't exactly explains why he thought it was a good idea to steal the songs and not credit Luke, but anyways. This is just me thinking thinky thoughts, lol), the radio turns on by itself. And the candles go out. And the shower is running and when he looks in the mirror, "Hello, Bobby" - Bobby, the person he tried to bury along with his dead friends. So he goes running to his therapist.
And when he sees the boys playing on youtube, he can't quite believe it. It must be a trick of light and camera angle, and these boys singing with Julie just look a little like his friends. But he needs to be sure, so he goes to the show, and then there they are. And maybe he imagined he'd seen them before, he probably had nightmares about them, missing them.
And he'd think he's crazy, except everyone in that whole place can see them, and it is them because 25 years or not, fancy clothing or not, he'd recognize them anywhere. Their voices, the way they played, the way Alex flips his fringe out of his eyes, and Luke's sleeveless shirts, and Reggie's smile, even from a distance. And he's just shocked to his very core with disbelief.
Point is: I need a season two because I need to know more about Sunset Curve, and Bobby/Trevor, and about what he's going to do now that he saw his old band playing after 25 years of them being dead.
