my friend group is actually like a weird sitcom. You have Georgie and I who might be gay for each other. Abby who is innocent but not at all. Ben J who falls in love within a month but finally found the right person, supposedly. Then there is Ben C who likes guys and paintingand spooning our mixed friend Javonne who knows too much about dicks. And of course Myoni who loves white boys and everyone. Then all of the girls have minor mental illnesses but we all laugh so much we cant breathe most of the time. And then Georgie is dating a boy with an older sister who is dating my brother. And then there is me who loves Alex Gaskarth and Annabelle who thinks everything in life is cute. Meanwhile we are all trying to be punk rock.
IN THE BASEMENT WITH JAVONNE, EP. 4!!!
A few weeks ago in this latest segment, JaVonne explores outside of the basement and enjoys some wonderful company at Sasa's Lounge in NYC! First, she interviews the owner of the lounge, Sabrina de Vanna, aka Sasa. Ja speaks with Sasa about her life and how her business in NYC came about. Sasa seems like such a sweet, hardworking European. Her lounge looks like such a nice place to hang out and enjoy some great food and entertainment. I've never been there in NYC, but I sure will enjoy it!
The second and last person JaVonne interviews is my favorite Nu Soul artist---you guessed it---Gloria Ry'ann! Most of her family members from her mother to her grandfather were entertainers, so music has been in her DNA ever since she was a baby trying to sing Diana Ross tunes. During her college days in Chicago, she was classically trained by Dr. Lena McLin, who trained some of the most phenomenal singers in the area from Chaka Khan to R. Kelly. Ja and Glow also discuss her relationship with Ashford and Simpson, especially the late Nick Ashford. He was such a legendary, soulful man. Right now, Glow is currently working on a new project with some of the greatest people in music such as Cardell McManus (who produced some of her songs such as "OMG" and "Gravity"), Mike Clark, Christopher Williams (aka C. Will), and many others. She will release some new music this year, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out this latest segment of In the Basement with JaVonne!!!
IN THE BASEMENT WITH JAVONNE, EPISODE 2!!!
The first segment included author, entertainer, and pastor, Mr. Kevin E. Taylor. This latest segment with my good friend JaVonne Armstrong features special guest, Lynne Womble. Womble is a great friend of JaVonne and she is an awesome indie soul artist. I have to check out more of her because from what I saw on the segment, she is amazing! The whole segment was awesome, and she basically talked about her life, her accomplishments, and music. Her voice is really smooth and pure.
