I headcanon that Jayce Talis is very smart, but also very stupid - specifically when it comes to things most wouldn't consider 'normal'. Dude is definitely one of those motherfuckers that lives a large portion of his life thinking oranges are spicy before being informed (probably by Viktor) that citrus shouldn't actually make your mouth itch and that he, in fact, is allergic.

This also extends to another headcanon of mine that Jayce has mild tinnitus. Not to the point of being noticeable *all* the time, but if it's quiet enough, he hears a ringing. Silence has never been 'silent' for him before.

It would come up probably when Viktor questions why Jayce always has something going that makes noise. A fan, maybe, or just Jayce generally humming under his breath when a conversation lapse.

And then, in all his dumbass glory, Jayce looks him in the eyes and goes "Because it's loud?"

Upon being questioned, he'll explain in more detail that it doesn't have to be *entirely* silent to hear a faint ringing, but he doesn't get why everyone else can just tolerate it. Viktor then has to inform him that all the 'I don't need hearing protection' Jayce spouts in the lab is probably the cause of this.

Or the fact that Jayce has probably taken more than a few explosions to the face. Either way, boy's kinda stupid.

werewolf and vampire jayvik, yes, but viktor is the werewolf and jayce is the vampire. that’s the only way to do it imo. viktor’s the one with the allegory of becoming effectively an inhuman monster against his will, something that he hides and has no control over, and jayce is the one who has all the sexy romantic vampire angst of loving people to the utter edge of ethicality and an insatiable sort of hunger to possess what he loves. does this make sense??

Jayce figures out he has a grey streak in his beard after he has to physically pry Viktor off of him and ask why this is the 6th time he’s initiated sex in the past 4 days. They’re both in their 40’s, Viktor hasn’t been this voracious since he first recovered from his lung surgery. Jayce doesn’t do much for his appearance these days, nothing compared to the constant shaving and waxing and styling of his 20’s. He hardly looks in the mirror in the morning, generally content to brush his teeth on the edge of the bath tub chatting with Viktor while he showers, the mirror too fogged up to really see in anyway. He doesn’t mind going grey much, he’s had some grey hairs pop up along his hair line in the last couple years, so it’s not a surprise, but he didn’t really feel strongly about it the other way either. But clearly Viktor cares and Jayce is starting to wonder if he can keep up. Viktor keeps running his hand through his beard and gazing at him. Jayce offers to give him a blow job after finding out that it’s the beard that’s turning him on and Viktor gets so hard Jayce is worried he might pass out.

i love the idea of jayvik having children post canon, but i also hc that they never will. the trauma of what they've been through is far too much, and neither of them feel safe enough to raise a family

sometimes they think about children. it's something both of them want. little ones running around an otherwise quiet home... but regularly jayce wakes up screaming in the night, finding himself back in that apocalyptic world where every noise terrifies him. and viktor cannot even bare the idea of visiting a local village, afraid that the hexcore is still inside him, and it'll consume people who get too close.

every day is a struggle. jayce sees faceless machines in the mirror. viktor mistakes the wind as the hexcore whispering to him. and on their worst days, neither of them can leave their bed, finding comfort only under the safety of blankets and in each other's arms...

...until they don't. a clap of thunder on a stormy night and viktor sees jayce killing him. another flash of lighting, and jayce swears for a moment that viktor's face begins to rip down the middle.

little ones are a lot of work. they sometimes scream, and cry, and jump out at you from hiding spots in the dark.

so their dreams of children are left as that. just dreams.

Things I crave to see that would likely never be put in an Arcane spin off pt 1/?

A montage of mage!Viktor traveling to the different time lines and slowly, inevitably realizing Jayce really is "it" for him in all of them. I wanna see him go from not thinking much of it in the first dozen, to slowly growing suspicious after the first hundred, and eventually reach this mix of horror and deep, unbearable tenderness after a thousand more. I want a scene that cuts from him crying to laughing at the absurdity of it all — and finally just sitting there, trying to quietly process the fact that he is loved across infinity. Give me gorgeous visuals of varied settings and scenes, showing him go from someone reluctant to even consider the idea of soulmates, to someone who has no choice but to believe — because no matter how strange or chaotic or absurd the time line, it's always Jayce who anchors him to his humanity.

And then — end the montage with Arcane Viktor waking up next to his Jayce. Preferably somewhere safe. And warm. Please and thank you.

jayvik headcanon

viktor was never able to go on the swings as a child because of his disability and no one was there to push him

so when jayce learns of this he immediately has to take viktor to the park and push him on the swings for the first time, and loves the look of excitement as viktor finally gets to experience his first go on the swings

in comparison, viktor's love would be quieter, but just as much. words of affirmation and gentle praise because he knows jayce needs verbal assurance. he's not one for touch, but he feels safe and comfortable enough to both receive and give it -- a gentle reassuring hand on jayce's back, softly cradling his face, placing his head on jayce's shoulder, all gentle smiles. after long council meetings when jayce would come home exhausted, viktor would be waiting with open arms, putting jayce's head on his lap and petting his hair and massaging his scalp as he listens to jayce whine and tell him about his day. he's so so proud of jayce, and he'd always show up for him - always in the frontlines of the audience at every speech and public appearance, beaming. he knows jayce doesn't like the winters due to his past trauma, so the windows and curtains would always be shut during the cold, fire roaring in the fireplace, ensuring jayce is always sufficiently warm; at night, viktor would hold jayce close, trying to engulf as much of jayce's larger body into his own smaller one and hold him through the nightmares. he'd sit on the sink, jayce standing between his legs and shave jayce's stubble. he'd kiss the pout off of jayce's lips. he'd make jokes just to hear jayce's laugh. when jayce is sick, viktor would try his absolute best to replicate the soups jayce would make for him. he's vulnerable and open with jayce - a testament to his trust because he's never let anyone in before. he'd tell jayce about his upbringing in the undercity, about rio and about how he made it to piltover, about his ambitions and fears. he's protective; in the early days of hextech he'd sharply shut up anybody who made a sniding remark about how ridiculous the idea of hextech was. he worked so hard to ensure jayce's childhood dream was fulfilled. when he'd see jayce slumped over in the lab, he'd smile so fondly at him, push back his hair and kiss his forehead, tucking a blanket around his shoulders. he could (and would!) sit and listen to jayce talk for hours, about anything and everything. he's playful and snarky and he'd play harmless pranks on jayce. when jayce would come back from the forge, he'd hold and kiss his strong blacksmith hands and wipe the soot and sweat off his face and body. he'd carefully safeguard and keep every single gift jayce had ever given him -- and not just gifts, but anything that holds sentimental value to them (e.g. the cog from the first night they met).
