if you were a 1d song you would be write you a song. it's soft and kind and welcoming. it sound like that feeling when someone opens up their arms so that you can hug them. it's whispering affirmations to someone when you hold their hand. it's gentle but sure of itself. you can hear little scuffles and other noises in the background because it's raw. runner up choices were kiss you, dfwyb, and home. :))

tacoing together

ok so after i tagged that taco sign with nourry i started thinking about an au and it got a little out of control so now i’m going to share my taco shop au with you.

so louis gets a job at a taco shop in high school. works there for a few years. he surprises everyone by sticking around and not quitting or getting fired and makes his way up to be a supervisor. he’s good at his job because the manager actually gave him a chance instead of assuming he’d be a write off because of his tattoos and sharp tongue. he’s good under pressure and a good at leading a team and he’s not afraid to put his foot down when rude customers give some of the newer workers a hard time for messing up or being slow.

niall starts as a dishwasher and also helps with food prep. mostly just chopping stuff and peeling stuff but he enjoys the hands one work and the manager retcons if he sticks around he could do more chef work. he’s in town for college and he gets the job over he summer because he needs to save up for his gap year. he misses home so he focuses really hard on his work so everyone loves him. of course he loves louis too. because louis is hilarious and patient with niall when he’s learning how things work. louis loves niall because he laughs at all his jokes and always comes to work with a smile and hums songs as he does his job.

harry has been around longer than niall but not as long as louis. he’s a server and he’s amazing with customers. he manages to get along with almost every customer from the local college kids to every senior citizen who sets eyes on him. he’s clumsy and slow which louis found frustrating at first but he’s so good with people no one cares that there order took longer than expected as soon as he brings it over and starts chatting to them.

liam works part time as a grocery delivery guy and part time as a lifeguard and because the taco place is near the beach he’s around a lot. they always offer him A free taco when he’s delivering food and he always makes sure they get the freshest produce. he usually leaves their stop for last so he can hang around and chat.

zayn starts coming in all of a sudden in the summer and at first louis isn’t a fan because he thinks it’s obnoxious to sit in a taco shop doodling and writing or doing whatever he does in his notebooks. however everyone else loves him and one day louis gets to work and the chalk sign outside looks better than ever and when he asks who did it niall points to zayn. louis wants to be mad because “you can’t just let customers do our job niall!” but he has to admit the surfing taco and skateboarding burrito looks sick so he tells lazy he’ll get a free taco for every time he does they chalkboard and suddenly zayn is in there twice as much.

this could work with literally any pairing or ot3 and ot5 (but then again what doesn’t work for ot5). but imagine niall trying to watch out for zayn from the kitchen and trying to time his lunch breaks so he can watch him draw. he doesn’t mean to creepy but zayn is just really fascinating. at first louis is jealous. not because niall is entirely missing his mouth as he eats because he’s making heart eyes at zayn all lunch but because he loves nail’s attention and worries that niall won’t walk him home after work or laugh at all his jokes if he’s so focused on zayn. but as zayn grows on him his jealousy softens and he realizes that niall will never run out of love not matter how many zayns and louis he has in his life.

maybe louis ends up falling for liam. he doesn’t realize at first until he’s talking to harry about how niall keeps giving zayn free stuff and is always peeking out from the kitchen to see if zayn is there. so harry points out louis is always giving liam free stuff and watching him bring in produce. louis insists this is because he appreciates liam bringing them the best produced and he watched him to make sure he does his job right and harry just nods and smiles and takes a sip of his cold brew coffee.

and of course they all become the best of friends. zayn fully wins louis over by bringing him some weed for after his shift and they make a habit of sitting out back watching the sunset smoking a joint. liam tries to teach harry how to surf (because harry thinks he’s finally found his sport) but he’s almost twice as clumsy on a board as he his on his feet. harry tells niall lots of stories about his gap year and niall takes notes of places he should visit and things he should do when he’s there. somehow they all go from being coworkers and customers to being good friends and if they aren’t hanging out at the taco shop they’re at the beach or at someones house or playing football in the alley behind the store. maybe they get a little tired of eating tacos but they never get tired of each others company.

they all get a tiny taco tattoo at the end of the summer so that even when they part ways to go to school and to travel and to start new jobs they take a little bit of each other with them.

ok i’m sad and hungry now so i’m going to go find the closes thing to a taco in my kitchen.

and zayno of course, zayno. coming in and filling spaces with art and changing the dynamics, changing the future. i am also same w free tacos.

also tbh, not to be biased, but this should totally be a slow burn zarriall and i would welcome a part 2
