Mae realizing theyre in love with Blurr 🩵
As Mae pouts Rodimus hunches over— laughing.
“You’re like a mini bot-!” He wheezes, gasping.
“Fine! If you’re so tall then switch with me so I can see-!” Mae adds, shoving him lightly.
He snorts, standing upright. “Oh hell no— I can’t see past him—.”
The three, Blurr, Mae and Rodimus look at the bot in the row in front of them. He was tall… exceedingly so. They were in the back row because Rodimus made them late— and of course the tallest bot in all of Cybertron had to park his aft directly in front of them and Mae. Literally NONE of them can see past this bot, all they get it a view of his orange paintjob.
“Well if we got here ON TIME— this wouldn’t have been a problem! And guess who’s fault it is we were late-!” Mae adds, servos on their hips.
Blurr blinks, looking at the two bots and deciding to let them continue as he looks from his spot over the crowd— optics narrowing.
“ExCUSEEEEE ME IF I WANTED TO BE POLISHED!” Rodimus huffs, arms crossed.
“You can be polished— behind him-!” Mae gestures, smiling aggressively.
“I wanna be able to see to! Just fly! I don’t know-!” He remarks.
Maes wings flicker. “I can’t just fly!”
Soon the crowd starts to focus their attention forward and Mae whines and groans.
“Ughhgh-..” They stand on their tippy pedes. “I can’t see scrap-!”
Rodimus pouts. “Cmon— don’t gimmie that look— here we can share-.”
He gestures to the tiny spot in front of him and Mae tries to scootch in front. They end up huffing, wings drooping as they slither out.
“I can’t— my wings’ll keep jabbing at you since there’s not enough room for the two of us—.” They add sheepishly.
“Well hey- we can just switch then-!” He remarks, giving a tiny smile. “I can just listen.”
Mae shakes their helm. “No— that’s not fair to you guys.. I-I’ll just listen.” They give a tiny smile, scooting between the two.
Rodimus exhales, groaning. “Maybe he’ll switch with us—.? Here just let me take—.”
“He won’t want to switch back a row—.” Blurr remarks.
“No! I’m not letting you take my spot!” Mae hisses, smacking away Rodimus’ servos as he tries to pull them to his spot.
They bicker a bit before Blurr speaks up, clearly having thought of an idea while the two were mouthing off.
Mae stops, swatting Rodimus one last time. “Yea?”
“Well— I am the tallest—.” Blurr shrugs, trying not to smirk as Rodimus makes a small face at this comment. “Why don’t you just sit on my back?”
They both tilt their helms.
“Like those running drills?” Rodimus asks.
“Yea-.” Blurr adds, nodding. “It’ll be way easier since we’re just standing.”
In boot they did drills called where they would practice carrying wounded bots back to base. It involved letting bots be carried on the back or in the higher leveled stages, carrying bots fully in your arms as you’d sprint to “safety.”
“Here-.” Blurr remarks. “Gimmie your legs— like we do during drills—.”
Blurr crouches slightly, gesturing to them.
Mae gives a bit of a sheepish look. “Blurr— you don’t wanna be holding me the whole time-..”
Their processor drift for a moment to other thoughts before he speaks up again.
He shakes his helm. “I don’t mind— really, it’s not fair if all of us get to see and you don’t-.” He smiles. “It’d just bother me the whole time anyway— now come on, don't be stubborn-.”
They’d usually remark that they aren’t stubborn, but instead they approach, gently slinking their servos through the gaps between his shoulders and neck. They let out a soft noise as he grips the underside of their thighs, softly hoisting them up and onto his back. They wrap their arms around him loosely, holding on as they look out— wings flickering as now they can see.
“Hows the atmosphere up there?” Rodimus asks.
“Can you see alright?” Blurr asks.
They nod. “Yea— Yea I can see.”
“Nice thinkin Blurr!” Rodimus chimes, grinning at him.
“Yea you should try it sometime.” Blurr jests, smirking slightly.
The two chat below them as Mae looks out past the crowd. There’s talking and bots laughing and engaging but they aren’t really listening, unable to focus. How sweet was he? To let them sit up here so they could see? Smart to that he even thought of it. They can see perfectly from here, and since theyre in the back row there’s no issue with bots complaining behind them.
Ironically enough, now that they can see they can’t seem to focus.. Theyre too preoccupied with the feeling of his servos tenderly gripping the underside of their thighs, and how they can feel the slight revving of his engine as their arms clasp around to his front. How his frame is radiating warmth and they can feel all of it since theyre pressed up against his back. His polish smells nice.. everytime he turns slightly they can see the contours of his face..— he had pretty optics and whenever he smiled widely you could see his little fangs poke put— but not both fully— since his smile was slightly crooked. And his voice had a rhythm to it, the way he talked. It was rapid yet silky. And he was so sweet.. and funny.. kind— hard
Their breath hitches suddenly as their optics widen.
Their sparkbeat begins to pick up and they plead to Primus that Blurr can’t feel it flutter against his back.
They like him… they reeeeally like him..
They can feel their face heating up as they unintentionally
Theyre in love with Blurr..
“Hey Mae! What kind of injury do you have?” Rodimus calls out as the crowd cheers for an unrelated reason.
Mae blinks. Each time they’d do the wounded bot exercise— they’d make up an injury that they had. It was stupid— but it kept them entertained and made the exercise more realistic. On days when they didn’t wanna run as hard the injury would be something mundane and silly. It made the exercise less stressful and overall made it more tolerable when the reality sank in that one day they may need to use it.
Technically this was in reference to the wounded bot exercise— the position at least. If this was how Blurr held the wounded well— consider Mae injured and in need of holding—.
They think for a moment, looking to Rodimus, and then to Blurr who looks up at them. Blurrs features are soft and waiting— awaiting what they have to say as he holds them up tenderly. Mae swallows as their spark beats rapidly against their cockpit, looking forward into the crowd as they respond.
“Spark related injury..” They respond.
