Charles hadn’t felt this tingly and giggly since his first crush, back when he was in grade school.
He controlled it easily. He passed it off as just being because he’d had a few drinks (really two rum and Cokes and a pint of ale were not that much for him--but Erik didn’t know that). He turned his flirtatiousness on the girls at the bar, though he was sure not to promise anything.
He told himself it was not blatantly obvious that he was more interested in Erik than the girls.
Well, maybe it wasn’t. Erik was drinking steadily, and he seemed to be steeling himself for something. But every time, he would glance over at Charles and the knot of women and deflate. Maybe he was interested in one of the women. Some of them were definitely interested in Erik.
But Charles knew Erik’s limit. Once he’d hit it, Charles extracted himself from the women with a gallant bow and a flirty smile, paid their tab, and dragged a stumbling Erik out the door.
Charles drove, much more carefully than usual, while Erik dozed in the passenger seat. Then it was a simple matter of getting Erik from the car up the flight of stairs to their motel room.
“Simple”.
Erik would not accept Charles’ help out of the car, or up the stairs. He leaned heavily on the wall while Charles unlocked the door to their room, staring at Charles with the strangest look on his face. Charles pretended to ignore it, and held the door for Erik.
Almost as soon as the door had closed, Erik collapsed on his bed and groaned.
“It’s not fair,” he muttered petulantly.
“What isn’t fair?” Charles asked patiently, pulling up a chair, ready for the usual ranting that he was so used to hearing from drunk people.
Erik turned his head to look at Charles, and there was honest pain on his face. “How much I want to kiss you,” he replied.
Charles blinked.
The room was silent for a moment.
The tingly, giggly feeling spread, but he kept it down. He’d just opened his mouth to say that he really wouldn’t mind a kiss, actually, when Erik cursed in German and turned on his side, facing away from Charles.
“Erik?”
“What?”
“I would like to kiss you too.”
There was another span of silence. Then Erik slowly turned over and stared at Charles.
“You would?” he asked.
Charles smiled. “Yes,” he replied.
Erik struggled to sit up; Charles stood and helped him, then sat in his lap, waited a moment for Erik to regain his equilibrium, and kissed him.
It was a little sloppy, and not the greatest. Erik seemed upset by this, and pulled back just to take a breath before leaning in again, trying to do better. Charles smiled and allowed this. Even if these weren’t the best kisses, they were good enough.
They shared two more, steadily getting better, before Erik slid his hand tentatively up Charles’ thigh.
Charles instinctively grabbed his wrist, and Erik froze.
“Sorry,” Charles whispered, letting go.
“It’s alright,” Erik murmured, nuzzling Charles’ neck. “I won’t do it again.”
Charles nodded, and kissed him again.
He could feel Erik getting hard. Well, he was aroused too. But he wasn’t sure...
“Charles...” Erik’s voice actually cracked, and he swallowed hard. “Charles, I... c-can we...?”
“Um.” Charles took a breath and took the plunge. “If you don’t mind doing it with a transsexual.”
Erik didn’t even blink, just let out a hoarse, “Danke.”

4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.

When he left the school, he honestly expected to never see Charles, or the X-Men, ever again.
That... made him sad. Sort of. It was better this way.
He went back to Germany. He didn’t know how no one recognized him, but that was alright. He didn’t want them to. Wanted man and all that. A danger to humanity. Etcetera.
Germany. Home.
He went straight to the little town where he’d been born. He got a job there, at the grocery store. It was amazing, how much had changed--and yet so much was the same.
He checked on his old home. There were children in the yard. He passed without stopping, though surprise made him want to pause.
Well, of course. The property had been seized by the Nazis, and presumably sold. There was no way he could live there, now. Did they know, though? Did they know about the secret door in the attic, that led to the room with the skylight? Had the children found his rock collection under his bed? Did they find the picture he had drawn on the wall, of himself and his mother and father, smiling?
Probably. It had been a long time.
Too long.
Erik went to the little apartment he was renting and locked himself in, numb with memory.
~
Two months later, Erik was stocking shelves when someone cleared their throat behind him. He checked the metal on them automatically, without turning around, because--
He frowned harder, and stood, wobbling a little. His friends stopped talking, staring at him.
“Leaving already?” Daniel asked, looking rather put out.
Charles forced a smile. “Forgot a paper that’s due,” he answered.
Everyone groaned, but accepted this excuse. Charles said his goodnights and left the bar.
He wasn’t having any trouble walking. He frowned again. Usually, when he left a bar, he had to walk carefully; but not this time, apparently. And he was still overhearing people. He shook his head and kept going.
By the time he got back to the apartment he and Raven shared, he wasn’t just hearing people close by; he was hearing half the campus, and it was a whirlwind of thought that made him stumble at least three times, and he found himself mumbling replies out loud, even though he knew none of them could hear him. Those few who saw him assumed he was on drugs, which he sometimes was, so if they recognized him they just gave him pitying looks and went on their way. He was glad. Minds that got too close were painful.
Raven was asleep when he got home, and dreaming that she arrived at work naked and in her true form. He shook his head hard and went to the medicine cabinet, hands shaking as he searched out the sleeping pills. They were technically for when he was high on sugar and caffeine, but needed badly to crash; but surely they could help him sleep, which would block out the voices. Surely.
~
Raven found him curled up on the sofa, shivering. He hadn’t slept. Instead, the voices had cut off abruptly–and the emotions, and the “feel” of people’s minds, and the ability to reach out and make sure Raven’s nightmare wasn’t getting worse. Everything was just… gone.
“You weren’t there,” Raven said, sounding hurt. “You’re always there when I have a nightmare.”
“I’m sorry,” Charles got out, hugging himself tightly. “I’m sorry. I… I can’t feel anything. Or hear anything. It’s gone, it’s all gone, what–” he gasped, and put his head in his hands, as suddenly it all came flooding back, every thought on campus, and beyond campus, too, oh god if felt like all of Oxford–
“Charles? Charles!” Raven was shaking him, her fear overwhelming, he could taste it, cold and metallic in the back of his throat. “Charles, what’s wrong?”
“Everything,” he groaned, clutching his head, “Oh christ, it’s everything, bloody everything–the pills–the, the sleeping pills, please, they’ll make it go away, please–”
“Okay, okay, hold on, I’ll go get them.” Raven ran for the medicine cabinet.
Charles curled in on himself, whimpering.

He stayed home that day.
He hoped his control would return when the pills wore off, but it just seemed worse. He tried, he really did; he tried every trick and technique he knew, but he still couldn’t get it under control. But he didn’t dare take more pills. So he stayed on the sofa, talking aloud to the voices in his head, sometimes crying, sometimes not.
Around six, he got hungry. He hadn’t had the stomach for breakfast or lunch, which wasn’t unusual, but his stomach had never missed a meal at six in the evening and it did not intend to miss one now. He got up, wobbling, and took more pills, then, when they had kicked in and blocked everything, he ordered a pizza delivery.
The pizza came at exactly the time they had said, and the delivery man was the same one who’d come the last few times Charles and Raven had ordered pizza. He was tall and angular and had a German accent and Charles had flirted with him every time he came. But Charles didn’t have the heart to do so that day, so he just mumbled a thank you and accepted the pizza.
“Are you alright?”
Charles looked up at him and smiled faintly. “Yes, I’m… I’m fine,” he replied. “A migraine, that’s all.”
The delivery man frowned, which was a slightly scary expression, but Charles just gave his thanks again and shut the door gently.
~
He wrestled his powers under control enough to sleep that night, and did so gratefully. Unfortunately, when he woke again, it was one in the morning and Raven was having a nightmare so scary it was making him cry. So he closed his eyes and clumsily reached into her mind, batting the nightmare aside and clearing the way for a good, slightly odd dream about fried pickles.
In the morning, she scowled at him, until she saw the tightness of his face and the shaking in his hands. “Stay home today,” she ordered him firmly. “I’ll collect your homework from the teachers and bring it to you.”
“But–”
“No. At least here you won’t have to talk to people.”
Charles thought about that for all of two seconds, then agreed to stay.
Raven left for the university, and returned with a heap of papers. Charles dove into it happily, kissing her cheek in thanks. With home- and classwork to distract him, the voices just… faded away. He could breathe easier, and that made his work more efficient.
Of course, when he took a break, it was six, and the voices came crashing down on him again. But they were fainter. He was regaining control.
He ordered pizza again. The same delivery man. He looked at Charles, and asked, “Another migraine?”
Charles smiled. “It’s better than yesterday,” he said.
“That’s good,” said the pizza delivery man, still looking at him oddly. His thoughts were all in German, which Charles couldn’t speak, but his emotions were easy; worry, and something like longing. Charles thanked him again, and closed the door.
He thought about the delivery man off and on for a long time that night, as he worked like a man possessed to finish his assignments. Then he forgot about him, as he had an epiphany and rushed to write it down before he lost it again.
~
The next day, he was almost completely in control again, so he left for class quite chipper. He still heard the odd thought, and emotions washed over him like waves, but it was easy to turn them aside.
He and Raven ordered pizza to celebrate.
“Migraine is better?” the delivery man asked when Charles greeted him cheerfully.
“Much,” Charles answered with a grin. “Thank you.”
“Cha-rlllles, stop flirting and give me pizza!” Raven yelled, but she didn’t sound very annoyed. Charles chuckled and accepted the pizzas from the delivery man.
Then, suddenly, the delivery man muttered “Fuck it,” and pulled a little bottle out of his pocket, dropping it on the pizza boxes in Charles’ arms. “Those are the ones I take when I get migraines,” he explained, not meeting Charles’ eyes and blushing slightly. “They actually work.”
Charles stared at him. Then he asked, “What’s your name?”
The delivery man stared back. “Erik,” he said finally.
I got an angst prompt for you. Pre established cherik. One of them keeping from the other that they're very sick.

Erik has gotten very good at lying.
It’s hard to lie to a telepath, but he can do it. He’s also good at lying to doctors, about pain levels, about duration, about how treatments are working. He’s good at pretending there’s nothing wrong, or, if there is, that it is very small and easily cured.
“It’s nothing, Charles.”
“You’ve been saying that for six months!”
Maybe he’s not so good at lying as he thought.
“It really is nothing, though,” he insists, a little weakly, too weakly, because Charles catches that and holds to it. His blue, blue eyes are blazing with anger and Erik would crumble if he weren’t numb with pain medication.
“You’re up to your eyeballs in opiates, you’re limping, you’re--damn it, Erik, what’s wrong?”
Erik swallows hard, unable to meet Charles’ eyes. He can’t lie anymore. He really can’t.
So he tells Charles. Slowly, he tells him everything.

Didn't Charles in the comics lose his hair at a really young age? I always just figured he went bald cause his mind was TOO POWERFUL but I might have made that up.
Yeah, I read some synopses of his early life and they all mentioned how he went bald early, but I don’t think any of them said why?
