my thoughts on aphmau mcd 10 year anniversary..
its such a throwback.. the symbol on the book and the music. wow. and the voice actor for laurance is so eerily close to sebastians voice. he did an excellent job in mimicking his voice. i was so hopeful sebastian would be back on especially after he expressed he would be willing to voice act once more, but i suppose not. the video is so quick but its simple to follow, im loving trying to see how many references there are.. like emmalyns dislike of aphmau in the beginning, zane trying to take high status, malachis castle..
watching this in 2x speed occasionally was so funny. im zoning out and all of a sudden zane is saying “and i told him the truth, you were kissing laurance in the forest” whatt. these strange references make zero sense to recent aphmau fans. if youve never seen mcd, you will NOT get the reference. and the vagueness of it is so funny.
and the DANCING MAD. the ORIGINAL BUILD of irenes chapel. oh nostalgia has met me once more.
irenes final words “go, live your life, do not look back.” a practical polar opposite of canon mcd aphmau. she carried immense guilt after leaving the irene dimension. she left one of her best friends in that dimension, and dwelled on it for months. and at the same time, it feels like a piece of advice to the viewer. with the idea that old fans, mcd fans, would see the video, and be in for the nostalgia. to hear “live your life, dont look back” feels like she doesnt want us to think too much about mcd. she probably doesnt intend to pick mcd back up ever again.
