This day was disgusting and still disgusting. Gross. Terrible. Shitty. Every bad word
The people who created magically illnesses should be punished.
And school.
And tests.
And CPS.
And the one fucking cop who hates him.
Short of the story, Billy doesn't have a good day. He already vomit three times in this two hour. He didn't leave watch tower because he couldn't. The Fucking Black Adam just burned a whole fucking forest and no one knows why he did that shit.
Fuck this life.
At least Zatanna here for him. But fuck the others, they looking him weirdly. Yeah champion of magic can sick too you suckers.
He can't even stand in some seconds, can't even breath. And this feeling doesn't disappear, just goes for a moment but Billy can feel that little nightmare under his skin, waiting for the right moment.
Then Damian Fucking Wayne appears. His left arm glows like sun when he sees Marvel.
Fuck.
Billy can't believe it. That boy is a real headache. And rude. And annoying. His eye twitches while looking Robin, wishing that just a stupid joke from gods.
Then Batman pulls back his son. Good for Billy's mental 'cuz he was about to cry of disappointment.
"What are you looking at?" He sounds angry and Billy realizing that nobody in here doesn't know how old he is. Damn, literally. He's about to curse someone.
He looks at Batman, keep looking, then knees, then vomit.
"Z can you take me home? I don't trust my magic right now."
"Aren't you gonna say something about it?"
"Yeah yeah, right." He looks at Robin this time. He feels angy, sad, scared and already dead. He wanna cry, scream or tear to pieces his own head. He wanna go home, definitely don't wanna deal with all this bullshit. So he talks with full of hate in his voice: "Stay away my unborn baby you little piece of-"
Before he can talk his words, Zatanna teleports them.
____
Okay a little explanation.
Soulmarks appear at age 14. Today was Damian's birthday, Billy is only 11. They were met before and hate each other.
I guess your propaganda works.
me when I saw the letter's about DamiBilly:
HAHFKDSSL
I shot 1000 propaganda posts into the Tumblr Abyss by now
AT LEAST ONE will work
I am writing the new chapter for my Soulmate DamiBilly fic and honestly I regretted it a bit how I sacrificed the young children bickering for teenagers' horniness haha
I guess uh, what can say, my brain's the actual Devil because I remembered people expected crack content or a shortfic with Batman being a dick towards Billy and then having to apologize later
But instead I got EVERYONE stuck in a long fic with children pining hopelessly for each other instead of whatever I initially promised
Is this whatever Odysseus felt like? LIke the ship was supposed to go right back home but somehow me and my readers are everywhere but home (Batman vs Billy conversation)?
thinking about how john is deans god because he is righteous just fair angry selfish punishing. how he is old testament god with his fire and his terrible protection and his love that is sometimes chains sometimes free fall sometimes perfect. thinking about how dean is sams god because he gives the illusion of free will because he floods the earth and puts sam on a boat because sam loves him wholly. how dean is jesus god sometimes because of his soft hands and healing fingers and ripped apart crucifixion. how he cradles sams humanity heavy skull in his palms and he’s got the whole world in his hands.
if there is something about the lgbt+ community and your whiny ass is in the replies saying “but what about straight pride?” or “what about the straight pride flag?” i’m going to find you, and make you deepthroat a cactus covered in bees for 8 hours straight
“You’ve got that look—like you’re either about to confess something or start a fight.” from tj :)
“You would be hoping for a confession, wouldn’t you?” Kisumi asked not sure what his face had to do with it. Sometimes he was in denial about how expressive he could be. Always thinking he was masking better in some situations than others.
“How about I wanna confess that you have a perfectly punchable face?” That way he got the fight and the confession all wrapped up into one. Certainly his lanky ass had zero reason to be mouthing off about fighting anyone but impulse control was something he was lacking when a few drinks got in him.
heck1 replied to your post “here’s an example of how i like to do things, tbh i get A Little high...”
I never though sources of inspiration could be both deeply analytical/symbolic/contextual but also for the hell of it. JJBA is the only work I know that flagrantly does both rather than all symbolic or all "why not."
absolutely they can! i almost want to say, “what else does an author even do?” but i think that’s too easy. so i accidentally wrote a novel here...
i think the-- not narrow, but tunnel vision?-- nature of fandom makes this seem more obvious compared to other series/authors but it’s pretty obvious, i mean look at any Jump artist... for instance, Oda sets up a convincing framework for the reader based on his research of actual pirate/military politics/relationships, and then goes completely wild with flares that make the story a whole separate fantasy. in games, Kojima uses everything from classic and modern film, music, the global history/legacy of the cold war to set up a charming, easter egg-populated setting. if you get the references, great-- it strengthens the charm, but if you don’t, it doesn’t disrupt the pace of the story.
i speak at such length about JJBA because i’ve done a tonne of research. and this is all information that is available to the public, and araki isn’t the only author who’s done interviews and revealed (felt/feels, with no hesitance, a want to share) what inspires them.
adjacently: i bought Otomo’s POSTERS/Graphic design artbook and he talks SO MUCH about wanting to make the sort of posters/artwork that kids who love the films they’re for sneak into the theatre to steal them, lmao. Otomo as an illustrator, designer, director-- there’s a wealth of information out there if you want to know what influences each of his many practises. Inoue just loved the shit out of basketball and wanted to make something about loving it, and in turn made the culture-shifting Slam Dunk. and of course there’s Tezuka. Toriyama.
what do you remember most about the fantasy stories you love? (”fantasy” being used loosely here. pointedly unreal, worldbuilding, etc.) the richness? relating to it? even when it’s so fucking absurd, even when you’ve never experienced that thing at all? JJBA is ~bizarre~ in its own groundbreaking way, but it’s not the only weird piece of media that’s had heavy-- non-gag/Real Life Pop Culture-- references but also managed to tug the heartstrings.
all of these are choices that are analytical/symbolic/contextual but they get stacked on, added to, have facets subtracted from at the learned discretion of the author. finding what works and why, within the things you naturally enjoy, and then finding more things to love through it. and then injecting a story with that, and inviting the readers to love it, and to find out more about themselves through it. not every interest/want/thing fits into 1 story; i think araki excels at being noticed in this way because he has 30 years of cross-genre work behind him and does seem to slam his interests into one thing. some authors spread it across multiple series/stories so that they can focus on making a particular point without muddying it. knowing where to put these things, what carries the story, what can be a cute aside without being too distracting... that does take some skill. and i don’t think Araki is the only one who does/can do this,
i can’t stifle my natural urge to want to know fuckingggg everything about what drives an author. not that you shouldn’t be able to enjoy something on a shallow scale. i def don’t think you have to look into literally everything and break it down through aggressive taxonomy. i’ve just found so much incredible media, and incredible insight, through this same type of research, which in turns boosts my appreciation for the work and boosts a better frame of reference when it comes to producing my original stuff. i want that personal, even-ground type of connection with my work, through choices like this, which i imagine is part of what these authors wanted.
most of what i’ve said here pertains to the drive of an artist, and storytelling/the “look”, versus art style. i feel like art style is developed so much as a result of what all these people look at, and continue to look at. no one is complacent. Araki’s style has shifted a huge amount, but he’s not at all the only one-- Otomo, whose style was very dimensional and fluid when he started publishing, has also shifted in big places, and i’m including shifts in methodology and medium in that as well. (again, araki assumes the role of my subject most often because, well, that’s what i’m in, here, and does have many public years for comparison, but so should many other prominent authors.)
a natural and humble voracity. the humbleness comes from ones own understanding of self, understanding of ones place/context, a willingness to learn from what’s come before, to better inform ones choices. no complacency, but definitely from understanding oneself, one can be proud of their own originality. the greats are there to learn from and there’s no reason to stifle your own personal connection to that... or your own validity!
(one of my favourite artists is yoshitake yamane, who is definitely inspired by the likes of hisashi eguchi/the aesthetic of 70s-80s manga, even though-- and even when screenprinting-- their work seems to reflect a deeply modern/current sensibility and nuance.)
(one thing that might be fun to check out is the amazing Naoki Urasawa’s series, “Naoki Urasawa Manben”, where he goes to visit how fellow manga-ka live and work.)
further tangents: a typical take on baring inspiration like this is that it’s unnecessary, should be kept secret, your work should appear as though it was produced in a vacuum, through immaculate conception. that being open about these things somehow devalues your original work. honestly? i want to Will Smith Pose (looking stunning, while gesturing wildly to That Other Good Shit I Love) at everything i hold dear. a fun, relaxed, grateful, and confident type of honesty.
I’m doing the biggest project for school rn on the harms of porn and porn culture and it’s just like… so soul crushing. every time I learn something new I get fucking violent. why did I do this to myself I have like no hope for the world and I hate being so fucking pessimistic but how can I not be when white, male supremacy is so deeply ingrained into this worlds culture. how the fuck can we get it out. I feel so hopeless trying and I’m sorry this is becoming an emo rant but like how can I not be fucking depressed when I’m constantly examining and seeing how bad things are and how almost hopeless they are. and watch things move in the Wrong fucking direction! and people don’t always even notice- and some just couldn’t even care. I’m so sad I’m sorry but it’s just like… so heartbreaking. how could our society become so fucking moral-less?
Me too I wish they didn't have anime-filler endings *cough* Soul Eater *cough* but I still like them. I started watching Noragami im on episode 7 of season 1. You didn't like season 2 ?
Haha...yeah, Soul Eater was one of them. XD;; I never actually finished it, sadly. I watched through Stein’s arc at the end, but got bored since he was my main source of entertainment. So it wasn’t like I disliked the series. I just don’t like watching if I’m not invested, because I don’t like to waste time. :> I may finish it someday though!
It’s not like Noragami’s second season is bad per se, but as a manga-reader, it’s hard to not want it to go exactly like the mangaka has it. Keep watching though! The anime really is pretty good! It’s got an anime-original ending for the first season (starting at episode 10), but it’s not that bad (irked me for personal reasons, but that’s neither here nor there). At least they were able to pick up a second season off of it!
I didn’t really like the second season of DtB though, no. I didn’t like the focus being taken off of Hei, and the female protagonist never endeared herself to me. She just felt...there, more a name rather than a person. Not to mention the entire season felt like it just destroyed Hei’s personality and character (a drunk who just goes around hitting children, really?). The animation was stunning (as per Bones), but storytelling wise, it just didn’t do much for me.
omfg i GET that black lives matter and every human should have equal rights that aren’t based on rediculous things like the color of your skin
humans are humans and that shit shouldn’t matter in any significant way
but PLEASE
CAN YOU QUIET DOWN ABOUT IT
posting a self portrait of a black person and tagging it isn’t helping jack shit
it’s really annoying me how every 5 seconds there’s some activism bs going on in social networks that does nothing but flood my feed and make you look whiny, to the point where i don’t care about the original message anymore
alright rant over, sorry
