Joan Benoit being crowned Champion. 1983 Boston Marathon. A world record time. The next year she would win Olympic Gold. We are the same age, by the way 😉😉
summer dreams
monday
6 miles easy yesterday, a little tired. Felt better today, so 10 miles at dinner time with the running group. Shared stories of college days including racing at the Penn Relays, and growing up watching the likes of Steve Ovett and Seb Coe in the ‘80 and ‘84 Olympics, Joan Benoit winning the first women’s marathon, now looking forward to watching the 2024 LA Olympics along with the World Track and Field’s in Eugene in 2021. Maybe some road trips lie ahead...
