This si3rren problem is messed up so bad💔 leave that jobless mentality, it's already 2026.
BUT, please don't hate other writers who moot with siren and ever defend her. Maybe they also just want to defend si3rren before finding out she's behind all this, like most of us. unless you have proof ?, but if you don't, STOP HATING. it will only make this problem bigger
(i don't want to start a new war)
they (my coworkers) hate me because every day i have a big beautiful roasted purple sweet potato in my lunch and they just have boring ugly sweet potato-less lunches
I'm going to do today and I'm going to be okay. T was so thoughtful and on top of her game these last two sessions. It feels heartbreaking to "leave" her for two weeks now (and for my long trip this Summer).
There's a bit of a storm coming for me with work - a big peak. So I really need to focus the next weeks and make sure I can get it done. Today is the scary meeting. We'll see.
I really need a bit more rest in my mind and body. Yesterday I finally did some tidying up (Marie Kondo) and that helped.
But right now it's also the young parts, confused and scared. I wish I knew how to calm them down. It's just going to be one day at a time for a while.
Job Speaks Angry Words to God
1 After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day he was born. 2 He said, 3 “Let the day be lost on which I was born, and the night which said, ‘A boy is born.’ 4 May that day be darkness. May God above not care for it. May light not shine on it. 5 Let darkness and a heavy shadow take it for their own. Let a cloud come upon it. Let the darkness of the day bring fear upon it. 6 As for that night, let darkness take hold of it. Let it not have joy among the days of the year. Let it not come into the number of months. 7 Yes, let that night be alone and empty. Let no sound of joy come into it. 8 Let those curse it who curse the day, who are able to wake up the Leviathan. 9 Let the early morning stars be made dark. Let it wait for light but have none. Do not let it see the light of day. 10 Because it did not keep my mother from giving birth to me, or hide trouble from my eyes.
11 “Why did I not die at birth? Why did I not come from my mother and die? 12 Why did the knees receive me, or why the breasts, that I should have milk? 13 For now I would have lain down and been quiet. I would have slept then. I would have been at rest, 14 with kings and wise men of the earth who built cities for themselves that are now destroyed. 15 I would have been at rest with princes who had gold, who filled their houses with silver. 16 Why did I not die before I was born, hidden and put away, as babies that never see the light? 17 There the troubles of the sinful stop. There the tired are at rest. 18 Those in prison are at rest together. They do not hear the voice of the one who rules over their work. 19 The small and the great are there. And the servant is free from his owner.
20 “Why is light given to him who suffers? Why is life given to those who feel sad in their soul? 21 They wait for death, but there is none. They dig for it more than for hidden riches. 22 They are filled with much joy and are glad, when they find the grave. 23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, and around whom God has built a wall? 24 For I cry inside myself in front of my food. My cries pour out like water. 25 What I was afraid of has come upon me. What filled me with fear has happened. 26 I am not at rest, and I am not quiet. I have no rest, but only trouble.” — Job 3 | New Life Version (NLV) New Life Version Holy Bible Copyright © 1969, 2003 by Barbour Publishing, Inc. Where I've Been and Where I'm Headed
Anonymous asked: Hey Wayfaring! I remember a few years ago you posted about God and being in the desert oasis before the Big Dream City and how that was maybe how you felt about being rural - how are things in regards to that? I remember feeling very hopeful after that post!
Wow, you have a great memory, greyface! The post you're referring to is from 2016. Let me catch you up on what's happened since then.
January 1, 2017: I gave notice to my partners in TinyTown that I would be resigning from the job.
April 2017: Resignation was made official.
July 2017: Quit!
August 2017: Moved back to ResidencyTown and started working at a new job in a rural town about 45 minutes away. I then had the benefits of small town medicine (more variety because no specialists, patients who bring gifts of moonshine, loan repayment programs) without the downsides of my previous job (not isolated anymore, had colleagues to work with, hospital owned practice meant job stability, more favorable schedule, etc).
If you look back at that old post or the book I referred to in the post, the man walked through a desert to get to his dream city. I compared TinyTown to my desert. The man in the story also has to face giants before he gets to the dream city. I think my past 4 years have been spent fighting some giants. I can't say that I've conquered them all, but a lot of them have started shrinking and looking less intimidating now.
Over the course of the last 4 years I've learned to fight against the giants of Depression, Laziness, Passivity, Loneliness, Withholding Feelings, and Grief, to name a few. Having a foster child during a pandemic taught me so many lessons about myself. I learned that I can do really hard things: that I can move forward without having all the details in place or without knowing all the answers to questions that might arise. I discovered that I enjoy teaching (and that I'm actually good at it!), and that I need balance between work and home life.
So where does that leave me now? Welp, I gave my resignation to Job #2 last week. I don't have a last day set yet. My next job will be as an attending the the residency program I attended. I am beyond pumped about this change. I won't lose 2 hours a day to commuting, I'll get to practice full spectrum family medicine, I won't have so much work that I can't get it done at work (ain't that a concept!), and I'll be working with friends of mine. There will be a lot of new things to learn and I'm going to have to brush up on areas of medicine that I haven't practiced in a few years, but I'm so excited.
I honestly don't know if I've reached the dream city yet, but I do know that where I'm headed definitely looks a lot like it.
