When did Papyrus unironically become my favorite Undertale character?

I started this blog to figure out why Papyrus is my husband’s favorite Undertale character, but the more I learned about him, the less I feel like I know about him.

He wiggled his way right into my heart, that slippery snail!

Can I just say

that I love how Papyrus is always joking with Frisk about which ending they're going to get? The only other two people who do this are Sans (once in a No Mercy run) and Flowey, and they're not very nice about it at all. But Papyrus is always like "I know you can do better!" or "You just need someone to keep you on the straight and narrow! I can be your friend!" in the bad runs; or "This isn't good-bye, we will see each other again!" or "This is the worst possible ending!" in the True Pacifist route. It's almost like, no matter how naughty you are, Papyrus always has this inside joke with Frisk/the player about what's going to happen without necessarily spoiling the fun for anyone. And it's just adorable to me.

I'M UP EXTRA EARLY!! TODAY IS THE LAST DAY I CAN GO JOGGING WITH JANICE BEFORE SHE GOES AWAY FOR GYFTROT GIVING! SO, I COULDN'T REALLY SLEEP.... I'LL GET STARTED EARLY TODAY.
