I had to go check out photographer, Michael Hellen, playing bass for Jasper T & John Crown at the Fresh Coast is Major 3 Release Party hosted by Juice Radio and ReignCity. .
Michael joined the Go. HARD. SUPERSTAR. family almost a year ago after I saw his live show photos of Theoretics. I told him what we were trying to do at GO HARD. SUPERSTAR. and that we'd love to have him contribute, since he was already out in the scene, taking photos. He understood what I was talking about when I told him about how this all works, and how we hope people will start connecting the dots for themselves.
It was several months later that I found out that Michael is also a musician. Perfect! He was exactly the type of person we wanted to welcome to the family -- and insider that had the perspective to honestly and insightfully document his life and the lives of the talented folks around him.
When I went to his photo gallery showing a few months ago, he introduced me to Jasper T, who told me he and "the homies" were preparing for a show.
Jasper T and the homies involved a full band and emcee John Crown, who I had been following on Twitter just because the guy is hilarious. You probably have been, too. It was great to officially meet him in person.
I must also say that I'm excited about their new project. John Crown raps over Jasper's folk-country guitar, and I think it's not only SO SEATTLE, but it works well. I don't think everyone's going to rush and start doing it too, but I know many has been thinking about it, and that's why it's a trip to watch John Crown & Jasper T and the homies rock on stage.

Seriously think this is a very underrated song in the NW right now. Love that he brought together some of the best sounds from SEA, PDX and Tacoma. Dope.
