Synopsis:- Basically Alisa walking in on fluffy Javery and her brain forming a plan. Set in between THL and TFG (Avery and Jameson are keeping their relationship a secret)
Notes:- Cozy Javery and Alisa angst... That's all i'll say. Seeing Javery and Oren and Alisa for a brief moment in TNIP made me write this.
At 8 am in the morning Alisa knocked on Avery's door with her usual composed demeanor tablet tucked neatly under her arm, the morning's schedule already lined up in her mind—this was going to a long day.
She waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Five minutes passed—far too long for her liking. What was taking this girl so long?
"Avery... are you alright?"
Again. No response.
Her brows knit ever so slightly. Avery was not responding… which was concerning, considering the fact she was a light sleeper. She always opened her door on time. Unless something had happened—the same way it had happened months ago when Grayson's dad had her kidnapped.
Fear took over every instinct Alisa had and without any hesitation, she called Oren.
"Oren," she said, calm when she was anything but that and pointed at the door "the door." her voice was barely above a whisper.
He crossed to the door in two quick strides then paused just long enough to take in her expression. Alisa didn't need him to say a word—she could see it in his face, in the way his hands shook as he reached for the lock to unlock the door. The same worry had taken over him—mirroring her perfectly.
The door opened quietly. She braced herself.
Alisa quickly stepped inside—and stopped short.
The bed was largely untouched, sheets smooth and undisturbed.
Her stomach dropped. Oh no. This cannot be happening. Not again.
That worry was short lived as her eyes took in the rest of the scene infront of her. In the far corner of the bed, where Avery had somehow managed to occupy the smallest possible space. Curled there wrapped securely in Jameson's arms. The same Jameson Hawthorne who was once determined to never fall in love again. The same boy Alisa had warned Avery about.
She briefly flashed back to when she had caught them... they had made her promise to keep it a secret—not that she had any reason to tell anyone. She was just Avery's lawyer.
This was absurd.
The two of them were fast asleep, tangled together, entirely oblivious to the morning, the schedule, to the terror they had just caused Alisa.
For a moment, she simply stood there as the worry left her body little by little.
The looked... So peaceful in eachothers arms... As if they were at home.
The tension in her shoulders eased replaced by something softer—fondness maybe or maybe even envy but like always she tucked it beneath her ever-present composure.
Luckily for her Oren chuckled breaking her out of this trance, she had forgotten about him entirely, even his composure was broken looking at the two chaotic teenagers being calm for once.
Then with a small exhale she reached for her phone a plan forming in her head.
The moment was too perfect to pass.
A quiet click of her phone camera captured it: the peaceful expressions on their faces, the effortless closeness between them, the undeniably soft moment, the reason Avery had ignored her for five full minutes. Five whole minutes. Her client was going to pay for it.
Alisa glanced at the photo her lips curving just slightly in a very Hawthorne like smirk—she was afterall raised by a Hawthorne man too.
She slipped her phone away expression smoothing back to neutral.
Alisa Ortega was sentimental—of course she was—but she was also unapologetically practical. There was more than one reason she'd taken that photo and she knew with a doubt that it would come in handy sooner or later.
After all persuading two particularly stubborn individuals to attend a gala they'd absolutely try to avoid required… leverage. And she knew neither of them would be happy if the photo was 'accidently' sent to the Hawthorne group chat.
She allowed herself one last lingering glance at the cozy scene before her—the soft quiet of it, the kind of warmth she had once known, once held, and somehow lost along the way.
No. She can't risk it again. Can't let herself feel that again.
She turned away just as smoothly as she would have any other day and left the room.
By the time she stepped out into the hall she was already cancelling meetings. And then a quick message followed soon after—short, precise with the 'leverage' attached to it, leaving very little room for argument. To Avery Grambs.
Avery and Jameson would be attending a gala that weekend.
- They created a couple's account (Alisa kind of forced them to do it);
- Hannah and Avery had a tradition of photo albums, unfortunately she lost them, so of course Jameson tried to find all the photos he had (and he succeeded);
- They have their own album for each place they visited;
- Whenever Avery gets upset about something and Jameson doesn't want to talk about it anymore, he kisses her in a suggestive way to make her forget about it;
- They definitely do those cute couple trends;
- Avery has a habit of putting her leg over Jameson's waist and hugging him like a sloth;
- They went to the Cigarettes After Sex concert and spent the entire show hugging and singing along, looking into each other's eyes;
- On my old account I mentioned that Jameson has a thing for mini skirts, and Avery knows this very well. Whenever they argue or there's an awkward atmosphere between them, she wears mini skirts and high heels to provoke him;
- Avery has a good tolerance for alcohol, so they always compete to see who can drink the most;
- They got matching tattoos;
- Every time they go to a wishing well, Jameson wishes that nothing would ever change and that he and Avery would stay together forever;
- Jameson is crazy about having his hair stroked, and sometimes begs for it;
- Whenever he's sad and Avery isn't with him, he imagines Avery's eyes and instantly calms down;
- Avery is insecure, but Jameson thinks she's the most amazing woman in the world, so whenever she shows any insecurity about something, Jameson idolizes her (interpret as you wish);
- Once, Jameson gave Avery a hickey and she forgot about it, so it ended up in the media.

christmas is actual madness at the hawthorne house
savannah gigi and lyra had to be personally taught how to play the games (especially secret santa)
savannah and avery had a bit of tension at first after everything was resolved (everything WAS RESOLVED trust me) but as time went on they were okay
once in a blue moon, there would be a FAT dinner hosted and lyra loves bringing food from her own culture
rohan comes but him and grayson are always beefing - mainly rohan just ragebaiting grayson
lyra and savannah are always teaming up on rohan or grayson it just matters who they feel like ragebaiting on that day
libby will randomly host a baking competition and nothing ends well
avery is BIG on decorations and sentimental gifts
mattias always comes just from the persuasion of gigi
everyones always shocked when he’s there
jameson and xander are 24/7 tackling eachother just out of the blue - they could be sitting on the couch and they would be fighting
lyra and jameson LOVE eachother (let’s make this known) and jameson also tries to tell lyra he knew lyra was going to be with grayson - lyra always reminds him of the time he told her to go to hell so he just shuts up
one time nash left the twins to the responsibility of avery and the hawthorne brothers and the twins came back with a LOT of new words learnt - it was avery vs jameson, grayson and xander
there was also a time there was an escape room challenge and the teams were avery + lyra vs grayson + jameson and avery + lyra came out of there in under 5 seconds
graysonavery is a forbidden topic in that household and xander always tries bringing it up
especially max she will comment on edits of them just to annoy avery
gigi and xander need to be separated at some points
oren and alisa are just tired of everyone at this point
couples are always separated when it comes to teams in a game especially javery and savrohan
xander introduces a “harmless” gadget every five seconds
to this day avery still doesn’t know where is where in the house
savannah is always claiming rohan isn’t her boyfriend for the sake of it
pillow fights 24/7
lyra is always baffled at how big the hawthorne house is everytime she goes there
they take a picture every thanksgiving and it always end up looking weird - either someone’s talking or has some weird stance
gigi and max clicked INSTANTLY
randomly they would go on live to show the hawthorne family and there would always be be smth going on in the background
lyra never understood the competition in the games until she started playing them
grayson would just correct someone’s plan so well that it would make it worse
savannah purposely gets lost in the house so she can explore and find things on people
rohan always clocks on and follows
one time libby was baking so much things for a movie marathon and said if rohan and jameson couldn’t be nice to eachother the entire day, they wouldn’t get any
tradition to watch so many movies during one night at a sleepover
rebecca and thea come occasionally
avery gets oren and alisa on her side first anytime she plans smth
xander randomly would just drop lore that the tgg players didnt know - “did u guys know avery nearly got shot for her first few days of being here and it was our mother who was responsible for it?”
whenever avery, alisa and grayson are doing work, they need to have COMPLETE silence
no one knew at first knox and alisa were secretly dating except gigi
in honor of my birthday i decided to make some birthday headcannonsss. i hope you enjoyyy
jameson got a sports car for his 16th birthday and he would show it off at school to try to impress people (especially girls) even though the only people that cared were the car guys 😭
libby makes her own cakes for her birthday and nash feels really bad that she makes her own birthday cake but libby insists bc she loves to do it
avery got a stuffed animal from her mom for her 3rd birthday that has a little voice recording from her mom that says she loves her and she would play it over and over again when she passed
xander always had the most wild birthday parties that everyone at school would talk about for months after
grayson always makes lyra a basket for her birthday (think burr or boo baskets) and always buys the most thoughtful items in like it she says she needs or wants something even in passing he will put it in and she is so amazed on how he knew she wanted that item
avery always wakes jameson up on his birthday in some interesting (😏) ways
when max was a teenager she was playing spin the bottle at her birthday party and when her mom caught her she sent everyone home and screamed at max then grounded her for 3 months
xander will throw cake in your face on your birthday but you never know when he will strike so everyone is always on alert
ducan made some snide comments about savannah’s birthday dress so gigi duct taped him in a closet and savannah spent her party wondering where he went and gigi feigned innocence
one year nash got a horse and when he posed for a picture with it and the horse ate his hat
emily always insisted on huge, extravagant parties and jameson and grayson would have to compete even harder for her attention
lyra told grayson she always wanted a highland cow and for her birthday he got one for her
savannah’s and gigi’s birthdays are always so chaotic and it always ends up savannah planning, setting up, and organizing the party and trying to enjoy herself and gigi being chaos incarnate and running around and causing mayhem
for all of jameson’s birthdays when he was younger he would act all high and mighty because he is the same age as grayson and he would get soooooo annoyed that for a day he was “technically” the same age as him
on max’s birthdays she would have a party with her friends (including avery) but have a sleepover after with only avery and that would end up being her favorite part of her party (the only reason her strict parents let her have a sleepover in the first place was bc avery was deemed a “good influence”)
savannah wears a birthday crown and sash on her birthday everywhere and she dosnt care if she gets looks (queennn)
on alisa’s birthday everyone threw her a surprise party because she confessed to never having one and she was so happy she almost cried (but she covered it up because she dosnt like getting emotional)
nash takes a ridiculously long time opening gifts like he takes out the card, thoroughly analyzes it, thanks whoever gave it to him, guesses what is in the present, comment about the wrapping, and try’s to save the wrapping paper by opening the gift very slowly and carefully, unlike jameson who very quickly opens all of his gifts bc he’s impatient but he still looks them over and reads the cards after the all the gifts are open. both are equally as annoying to everyone else
libby had a goth hello kitty birthday party because she never had a proper party as a kid (except for the one avery’s mom threw) so she wanted to have the party she never got to experience as a kid
oren always does the thing where he will “disapprove” of the guests alisa tries to invite to avery’s birthday parties for “safety reasons” bc he knows avery dosnt want to be around annoying rich people and would rather just have fun with friends and family

Grayson Hawthorne - giftwrapping but precise & pristine with matching bows & wraps, handwritten notes with perfect cursive writing
Jameson Hawthorne - fitting gazillion clothes in a suitcase then closing it somehow
Xander Hawthorne - making chores automatic by building small robots or scripts that do the work for him e.g. his homework is compiled and sent by the script and he never has to do it himself or looks at it
