toshinobu kubota is jotaro’s favorite musician (at least when he was 17) canoncially so i absolutely had to include a song of his
but i dont actually know what the lyrics translate to so i cant actually say much for the lyrics on this one BUT considering we met jotaro in a jail cell i think the whole “not too nice” thing fits. plus just the fun jazzy vibes rlly fit with stardust crusaders imo, esp the beginning of the part. so we’re starting it off with a fun bang that intros jotaro’s basic character, just like the manga and anime did
2. Brave as a Noun by AJJ
jotaro and his anger issues/general mental illness at 17 </3 is what i think this song is about. mostly.
first verse is him being like this fucking sucks to everything re stands cause let’s be real jotaro’s relationship with stands is not the best
chorus is just how doomed jotaro felt on the egypt trip. i really dont think this kid expected to survive it or at least he wasnt surprised they ended up with as many casualties as they did
second verse is jotaro being afraid to connect with others and how he’s worried he’s too much and too sharp to be accepted and held
3. My Mom by Kimya Dawson
jotaro’s epic egypt trip trauma regarding his mom. “my mom needs you gone” talking to dio. man. also the mom’s sickness in the song escalating...holly’s stand sickness giving her only 50 days to live...
also that one bit in the beginning and the one bit with bert and ernie and gift giving...jotaro about the crusaders...”how could i ignore such selfless generosity?” jotaro @ the crusaders for helping him on this venture...
4. Wrecking Ball by Mother Mother
jotaro has so many issues. anyway this song is his perception of himself and how destructive he is. he thinks he’s inherently just a monster i think and thinks he destroys everything he loves
5. Here’s to Never Growing Up by Avril Lavigne
im not lying this is the last happy song on this playlist
i know this song in is like all of my jojo playlists but in this case i think it perfectly represents the fun jotaro had with the crusaders on the egypt trip. the conclusion of those 50 days ruined his life but he was the happiest he’d ever been during them

jotaro running away to america to avoid thinking about anything and everything crusaders/dio/his family lol oops
but he can’t outrun his trauma. hence “if you ever try to leave me, i’ll find you”

this song is about jotaro’s depression and isolation after the egypt trip and how he bottles everything up.

um jotawife/jolyne song lol! as the previous song said, he can’t run away from his trauma; it catches up to him and poisons his new relationships. “i know you could make me happy” are you fucking KIDDING ME. anyway jotaro basically closing himself off from his family after morioh because morioh is where he picked up and had the “standusers attract standusers” idea reinforced in his head and jotaro’s perception of stands is stained with the blood of his loved ones so he cant ever see them as a good thing i don’t think. hahahahakanksksk; sjnkjwkjsknsjkwsjnsjnas ak a (begins throwing up and crying)
12. Twin Size Matress by The Front Bottoms
that feel when uhhhhhhhh trauma anyway this is about how jotaro loved the crusaders so bad but they died and jotaro just can’t bring himself to be in a position like that again so even though he cared about jolyne’s mom in some form or fashoin and jolyne herself, he leaves. “she hopes i’m cursed forever to sleep on a twin sized mattress in somebody’s attic or basement my whole life; never graduating up in size...and my nightmares will have nightmares every night”

jotaro wants to die so bad as evidenced by the fact he went to save jolyne despite knowing damn well it was a trap meant to kill him. but also he refuses to kill himself directly because he shoulders so much responsibility. and he does want his loved ones to be safe before he kicks the bucket. so he keeps trudging on even though this fucking idiot has made sure he doesn’t have an ounce of happiness in this life. anyway this song is about struggling with suicidal ideation so

first verse is jotaro pov and how his trauma has consumed him lol. (this is why you go to therapy kids jotaro is a cautionary tale)
first chorus is jotaro’s family pov (joseph/polnreff/holly mostly) and them seeing how burned out and damaged he is
second verse is jotaro’s pov and how he shoulders so much responsibility and fear (“i need to make it right”)

this song is basically jotaro’s life story fucking lol and how he had to grow up too soon and it ruined his entire life! haha! hahan wkjsnjsd (i sob and wheeze and slide down the wall)

um so jotaro’s depression again ft his relationships to others and how his philosophy did not help him to save anyone in the end.

bridge is his suicidal ideation
final chorus is jotaro finally being open about his affection for jolyne only as he is actively dying. lol. and then the very end is how he fails to save jolyne. “and i keep coming up short”. (throws up)

alright well writing this gave me a brain tumor. hope you enjoy the playlist everyone and remember: i am so sad about jotaro kujo all the time.
I remembered that I had a playlist that I never worked on due to insecurity and now I am more than happy to share it with you. It means a lot to me since it has very personal songs and with very particular settings, I hope to add more songs while writing the official Lore of Francesca!
These are just songs i feel either fit keicho at one point,songs he'd listen to, as well as some self ship songs. Feel free to listen to while writing to get inspiration.
