swear to god i think large swathes of this website have forgotten about misogyny or are pretending it's like no big deal actually. like this shit is so dire. with the kind of posts and discourse i see sometimes i really think a significant chunk of this webbed site thinks that misogyny is when you get Troll Comments ™️ on The Internet, and the kind of misogyny you're dealing with (as in, misogynoir, transmisogyny, etc) impacts what kinda slur you get called by faceless accounts on twitter. or if not solely that, then also "misogyny is when leg shaving" with 0 further thoughts.
like i just dont think people On This Webbed Site are understanding how pervasive it is globally and how it infects societies on every level, how it impacts everything. from doctors subconsciously dismissing women (& those perceived as such) as hysterical, to the concept of the glass escalator (as in, opposite of the glass ceiling), to the original concept of mansplaining (as in, a man assuming a woman doesn't know something and couldn't be an expert on it, remember all those twitter threads of various women talking about how men cited her own works to her?), to eldest daughters being a third parent, to period poverty, to moms parenting but dads babysitting, to women being seen as shrill hysterical shrews when they speak up, to how expecting a boy is a delight but expecting a girl is a disappointment, to girlchildren taking on housework after their mom dies cuz the dad ain't bothering, to inequal housechores divide, to women in male dominated industries fighting for their lives, to the fact i dont know a single woman (nor a single transmasc considering this shit starts happening when we're preteens) who hasn't been sexually harassed, to how women are pushed to coddle and caretake, hello??? fucking hello???? this shit happens worldwide!!!
whyyy am i seeing posts about how leftists "being mean to men" pushed them to the right, about how what if mansplaining is just done by autistic dudes, about how concerns about men gynecologists are some "women can be soiled when touched by men bc purity uwu" bullshit instead of how they're based in the long history of the medical field being fucking atrocious to women (especially if they're brown. underlined.), about how what about the mens feelings when these problems are discussed, what's going on!! what's going on!! fucking hello??
