UCONN: Where I call "WOOP WOOP" home
"Goodluck HAH" That’s what my dad said to me as we were driving through the - what seemed like- the never ending bushes on the drive to UCONN. LOL I have to admit, being a city girl, I did experience (more than) a bit of a shock arriving at the small town of Storrs, Connecticut, aka woop woop, where I would call home for the next 4 months.
Because this is America, the land of patriotism, the level of ‘passion’ also applies on a university/college pride level. Although there is no dress code for college, I feel like I should have been informed in the amount of UCONN attire and basically all types of merch everyone ‘wears’ here. Like… UCONN has changed me into a person who wears a lanyard on an everyday basis… I don’t know how I feel about that. LOL
The amount of photos I have with Jonathan/many forms of Jonathan the Husky is actually quite concerning.. But C’mon, Jonathan is practically a celebrity here!
The (real) Jonathan the Husky the 13th + 14th! LOL of which whom blesses each football game with his presence!
I also experienced my first pep rally and it was so cool!! Although I was expecting some Bring it On stuff, they mostly did chants and dances on the floor and not so much pyramids and formations which was disappointing. :( But apparently they do that in the actual games, which I'll looking forward to!
THE MOST RANDOM THING HAPPEND, i got interviewed by FOXCT for WOW week because of my seemingly "I'M OBVIOUSLY NEW AND FORIEGN" look. I will probably regret posting this here, but I think its one of those things where I may appreciate (or not) that I have documented in 10 / 20/ never years.. LOL Looking back on the interview, i realised that they probably wanted to interview me to pose in the article as a “minority!!!” LOL SIGH RACIST???

Other things that has happened here include:
I have since spread my burden of existence in America. Evidently dropping a bowl of cereal in the dining hall… LOL Notice the guy sweeping the cereal on the side of Donna’s snap. :’( sorry
Similarly, I dropped a whole bottle of milk at price chopper (the convenience store). Then a random customer behind me decided to hide the evidence by putting the milk bottle back into the bottom of the fridge… LOL I hope that fridge is still working... LOL SIGH
Me and donna stole a shopping cart and pushed it all the way through campus. People did look at us like we were some crazy bitches. We then proceeded to dump it on top of the Busby hill. HAHA
Experiencing the struggle of doing our own laundry... LOL ily mum (THAT PAIN THAT YOU FEEL WHEN YOU REALISE YOUR DRYER DOESNT WORK/PEOPLE STOPPING YOUR DRYING CYCLE MID WAY THO!!)
