Seccotine for the character thing.
First impression: The first impression I had was the 2006 cartoon. I remember initially thinking because of that Spirou/Secco were the main ship of the series. Also due to that series I drew her with a long straight face when I later realised she has a petite round face in the comics.
Impression now: She’s super awesome and I love her. She’s a great little female character especially considering the lack of them when she was introduced. Although she is done badly by Yann. But I love her always being confident and cool and not standing for anyone’s shit.
Favourite moment: I really love her bickering with Fantasio in Rhino’s Horn. He’s outrageously sexist to her but I love that she actually seems to have fun matching him with all the stupid comments he throws at her.
(Also I love Spirou face in these panels where he gets surprised as Secco’s ponytail flicking him in the nose but also seems to be staring at Fantasio shocked he’d say something like that. And then he just tries to politely walk off and is clearly desperate to be as far away from this conversation as possible)
Idea for a story: It’d be fun to have a story where she’s the main focus. I kinda like the idea of Spirou and Fantasio going on a mission and something happens and they go missing then Seccotine has to pick up where they left off and save the day.
The thing is I would have previously said ‘Seccotine gets to join in an adventure’ but the thing is Ferumont’s one shot has filled that void in so nicely and I really love getting to see her and Spirou hanging out adventuring in that.
Unpopular opinion: Erm... What unpopular opinions can be made against Seccotine? All I can think to say would be ‘I like her as written by Yann’ but that’s a lie and Yann should be given a restraining order against her character already.
Favourite relationship: I’d say I love Spirou/Secco the most just for the wonderful family/having a child stuff by @kadytheredpanda which is always really cute and lovely (though the ship hasn’t had a good run in canon, and this is the third time now I’ve cursed Yann’s name writing this).
And the Fanta/Secco bickering rivalry that’s now become a sort of teamwork in the newer albums is really nice. It’s lovely to see that development and change in a series.
Favourite headcanon: Hmm... most of my headcanons are for au’s actually, so I’m trying to think of some...
I headcanon there’s not much of an age difference between Seccotine and Spirou and when the two of them are together they can act like a brother and sister and pair. Seccotine likes being the older sister (this can some time’s be annoying to Fantasio as Seccotine encourages Spirou to mess around and he will just hear the two of them snickering from somewhere)
