When the world went mad.
When Dragon’s memories finally come back enough, she only remembers a little from when the world went crazy. She was small. She remembers being scared. The crashing sound of the TV hitting the floor, thick glass shattering and flying across the floor. An electric sound, her dad out of breath, sweat on his face. She remembers looking at him and crying, the unexpected noises having frightened her. Her dad rushing to pick her up, trying to speak softly to her, soothingly, checking to make sure none of the glass had caught her.
She was fine, though. Dragon held onto him as he took her hurriedly to her bedroom. There were a lot of screams and other loud noises scattered around, drifting to their ears from other apartments above and below them. Her dad sat her down on her bed, and began rummaging around for her shoes and her blanket. He told her everything was going to be okay as he put the shoes on her feet and then wrapped the blanket over her torso; as always, the cloth was an immediate comfort as soon as it touched her skin. Dad put his hands gently on her shoulders
“Sara, look at me. Everything’s going to be just fine. We’re going to leave. We’re going to stay with a friend of daddy’s, okay? Just for a while. It’s not safe here.”
Dragon didn’t understand. She started to nod, but a loud crash that shook the building and a scream from outside stopped them both. Dragon drew in a scared breath and reached for her dad, and he scooped her up, starting to leave the room.
“W-wait! My book, my book!” She reached out toward her room, towards the bedside drawer she knew it was stashed in. She had many books, but there was only one she needed, the most important one.
“Sara, sweetheart, we can’t--”
Dragon wiggled in his arms, tears in her eyes, until he relented and set her down. She ran over to the drawer and pulled out the book about mythological creatures that she had so recently been fascinated with, the one with the dragons in it. Her dad had enthralled her so with it, reading it with his voices, showing her the pictures, making them sound so impossible but so real.
Dragon hugged it to her chest and ran back to her dad, motioning for him to pick her up again. She tucked the book into her shawl as he moved them through the house and into his bedroom, where he reached into his own bedside table for something a little less sentimental.
A gun. She remembered the sharp glint of it, the object she’d been told to never touch.
Dad grabbed several boxes of something and stuffed them into the pocket of his jacket. Then, he grabbed a duffel bag from his closet and began stuffing some things inside. They stopped in the kitchen briefly to grab some canned foods and then dad was moving quickly toward their front door, breathless and sweating more terribly than when he’d shoved the TV onto the floor. He opened the door slowly, so slowly.
Gun pointed first into the hallway.
“Sara...” Dad said softly to her. “Put your head down.”
“W-Why?”
“Put your head down, and don’t lift it back up until I tell you it’s okay. Alright? Can you do that for me?”
“...yeah.”
If she tries hard enough, she can still remember the smell of his shirt.
Joseph stole a bike...
...oh yeah, and he ate some guys too. This is an RP illustration for a longterm RP thingie I’m doing. Both victims can reform. And better yet, Joseph gets to keep the bike
Train travel with friends. <3
I saw these wonberful guys from this artist @puffeyes , and i really like them, so i wanted to draw them...... i hope, she will not mind <3
Got anymore yandere ideas in the works?
TW for mentions of death, but its not technically death? Also implied paranormal stuff,,, I think its very suiting for Halloween vibes haha. Anyway,
I'm a big fan of the "came back wrong" trope, and I've imagined a yanparent bringing back their kid, but only recently have I come up with this idea!
Joseph is your dad, who had died when you were still a child/teenager. Years later, when you're an adult, he just... comes back. No real explanation, or anything. He looks about the same, but he feels oddly cold.
You aren't sure what to think, but he just welcomes himself in, acting all dramatic about how much the house has changed since he was gone, before realizing how much you've changed. Why are you acting scared of him? He's home now! And he's never leaving again! Now come here and give your old man a hug! <3
He gets very upset when you want to do things that adults can do.
Why are you going out?! Its 8 PM! Are you crazy?!
Wait, you're dating? No, no, no, you're too young!
What is that you have?! Is that alcohol?! Absolutely not! Give that right this instant, you are so grounded!
He gets irritated whenever you point out you're no longer a kid, even if no time has passed for him. He refuses to treat you any differently than how he did before he died.
With that, comes insisting following you around everywhere.
If you go to college, he treats that as him taking and picking you up from grade school.
If you go to a friend's house, he needs to meet them first so he can approve, and refers to them as "playdates".
God forbid you go to a party. He'll act like the stereotypical dad barging in and shutting it down, as if you all are a bunch of rowdy teenagers again.
You notice more unsettling things about him as time goes on. It isn't strong, but he smells just faintly like cadaverine. He doesn't blink as much as you think someone should, and his smile strains a little too wide at times...
And he gets very offended if you point any of this out.
"I've always been like this, silly. Don't you recognize your own father?"
The more you try "rebelling", or the people around you try getting involved, he grows more paranoid. He decides a nice, secluded cabin in the middle of nowhere would be the perfect new home environment, away from everyone who want to take his kiddo away from him.
What holidays do your ocs celebrate? I think Lux would start a new holiday of when you fell to him.
I've never thought much about it, but I could imagine they'd be up for celebrating any holiday you want them to! (merry christmas to those who celebrate btw!!)
I could 100% see Lux starting a new holiday just to celebrate the anniversary of you falling! For you, it'd basically be a second birthday.
Also could see it going like....
Reader: What is all of this??
Lux: It's to celebrate the day you came to us! The day you came home :)
Reader: You're celebrating the anniversary of the plane I was in crashing?
Lux:
Reader: One of the most traumatic moments of my life?
Lux:
Lux: So who wants cake?
On a separate note, I think Cecil's favorite holiday would be Halloween because he loves seeing people's costumes and likes sweets. He'd totally encourage you to dress up and even go trick-or-treating around the studio building (I imagine half of the people in there just adore Reader, even if Cecil gets a lil jealous).
Hugo loves Christmas for the cozy vibes. His ideal Christmas is an absolute day of laziness. After opening presents, just binging Christmas movies, baking, and cuddling are things he'd love to do.
Ellis also loves Christmas. Even though he's not rich by any means, he loves seeing your face when given the things you want. After that, he also just wants a lazy day in.
I think before you, Vincent's favorite was New Year's Eve because of fun socializing and parties that aren't work-related, but he'd love any holiday that involves gift-giving after you're in his life because he loves to give gifts.
Joseph considers your birthday his favorite holiday, and he counts it. He misses just having some of your friends over, and giving you way too many presents, half-expecting you to brag about how cool your dad is. ("the only sad part was being reminded my baby's growing up!" </3)
It's also really funny to imagine the Seasonal Gods' favorite celebrations being their solstices/equinoxes haha
i have a question..
Which one of the yan parents are most likely to let the reader have a partner or something close to that, maybe a best friend their age. I personally feel Dante wouldn't mind it as much, Rune might honestly just think they're another kid like reader and possibly adopt them too, idk. I just like the thought of reader having someone to communicate with other than yan parent and being able to share a moment with someone.
You're right about Dante and Rune!!
Dante would be very wary, but if you were genuinely happy and it wasn't someone who would try to "save" you or take you away, he'd eventually come around. He's been through a lot, and as long as he doesn't see your friend as a threat, he'd be okay with it. He'd probably still be scary quiet and intense around them, but he wouldn't actively try to sabotage the friendship.
Rune would absolutely see another person your age as just another baby. They'd probably try to include them in everything. It would be a very strange experience for your friend, but Rune wouldn't mean any harm ofc.
Here's a few others!
Lux would let you have as many friends as you'd like, as long as they're in the cult, of course. He'd see it as a way for you to integrate and feel more at home. He'd be extra sweet to them if they're a little, which is what he'd greatly prefer. He'd treat it as a playdate whenever you hang out.
Joseph would let you have friends, but he'd be very, very overbearing. He'd try to insert himself into your conversations, telling embarrassing stories, and trying way too hard to be the "cool dad." He'd treat it like a playdate, too.
Seradiel would allow it, but only if he approves of your friend. He's very protective and has high standards for the people you surround yourself with. He'd probably want to meet them multiple times before letting you hang out without him hovering in the background.
