Just because Britain has decided to leave the EU does this explain the sparks flying between the sugar-cane importers and farmer producing homegrown sugar beet? Is this small battle just a small spec of a bigger war?

With Britain taking up a sugar tax, means the amount of sugar being consumed via drinks are now slowly decreasing. However, how has leaving the EU affected that and what does that mean for the importing of regular sugar?
Britain now has to find a way to import sugar or grow it themselves otherwise all those sweet pastries you adore from your local coffee shop may not be there tomorrow.
