Heroine with 1001 Faces has an incredible premise! Do you have any other recommendations on books of similar nature? (literary analysis? Comparative literature? Not sure what's the proper genre is)

In the raw Japanese scans for Komi, on the page margins there's always some character intros. Basic stuff, like Komi being beautiful but bad at talking, Tadano being good at reading people. However starting from 321, there's an update. In Komi's case it was "currently dating her first friend Tadano-kun" while in Tadano's case it was "currently, after around 2 years of being friends [with Komi], going out with her." I just love that, want to share it with you.

With the latest befuddling attack on Biden being "He's like Mr. Rogers! You know, that fictional character known for being super nice and good!", I want to ask if Mr. Rogers is part of your childhood or if you have any memories of actually watching his Neighborhood. As a non-American Mr. Roger's mostly a meme to me.

I do, i grew up while Mister Rogers was still on the air. He was great, I loved his little trolley hah. I don’t really know that Republicans, particularly the ones who openly support Trump, have a good vision of the world let alone America. I can’t imagine they have much joy or love for living or life in general.

As a layman the only two linguists I can name is Chomsky and Pinker, and I think they're no longer accepted within the larger linguistic community? If I want to read more into linguistics, what'd be a decent introduction?

Chomsky was once the undisputed king of linguistics, and no one can deny that he created a turning point in the 50s and 60s, but his star has faded somewhat since he’s failed to uncover precisely what his hypothesized universal grammar entails. He’s definitely still accepted, even revered in some circles, but he faces a lot more pushback than he used to, especially as he’s only become more dogmatic over time. As for Pinker, he’s not personally liked because of his conservative social views, but I’m not sure about his research, I’m not well-versed in cognitive linguistics. I can tell you that he’s an absolute joke as a historian though, his dabbling in that field has not turned out well.

As for others, William Labov is the founder of sociolinguistics, and his research is pretty easy to understand. Jean Berko Gleason is one of the pioneers of psycholinguistics and has done a lot of groundbreaking work in child language development. George Lakoff is very accessible, you can actually find him on twitter. His ex-wife Robin Lakoff is probably the better scholar, but she does more academic work. I’ve heard her book on language and gender is good though. 

There are also some good linguistics podcasts. I like Lingthusiasm (and you can follow them on tumblr at @allthingslinguistic.) The Vocal Fries is a good one that focuses on linguistic discrimination. The History Of English is exactly what it sounds like. Slate’s Lexicon Valley is alright, though John McWhorter is not to everyone’s taste.

That scene where Naruto and Hinata looked over the sleeping Boruto, my god, ouch. The orange jumpsuit kid I cheered at when I was a child and the other kid I cheered at so she could be with the orange jumpsuit kid had grown up to be such adults, yet their dynamic, that sense of Hinata being the main support, is still there, still pristine. What did we do to deserve this?
