Geometrika lore part 1.5 - the islands and the Farlands
Now, the Mainland is the main singular great continent of Geometrika, but that doesn't mean it's the only landform in this world...
As I mentioned previously in the last lore post, there are islands in a good plentiful of the sea subdivisions of the Octave Ocean, many notorious archipelagos being found, some even with their own history.
Examples include Aether archipelago, Inphernal archipelago, Metagraphos archipelago, and plenty others! After shapes originating in the Mainland, a few had traversed through the 7 seas, and progressively found these islands to slowly fund and build their societies around these. This wasn't a singular event, but rather something that had happened many many times in history, each migration having their own reason for happening. Another possible reason historians believe might have caused the origin of shapes in these scattered island groups is that during shape evolution, some lifeforms might have possibly grown out to reach said islands and archipelagos, causing shapes to origin there naturally and also build their societies from scratch, often being under the impression their nation(s) was likely the first.
Not all is so neatly and perfectly known about how shapes ended up here, but it is certain that not all of them were directly dependent on the Mainland, many even depending mostly either on their own self-sustaining economy or on commercial accords with other nations overseas. Plenty of said nations around these islands buy and sell from each other, shape travel being also mildly frequent depending on the region. Given the size of the Octave Ocean, shapes have found it more viable(especially due to resources) to simply maintaing their main form of overseas travel by boat - of any kind included here, even large sail ships.
What I really like about this lore bit personally is that some of these archipelagos are made by my friends! :D It's very open-ended >W<
Anywayersm, then we have the last bit of land to cover, which I believe me canz do here as well: the Farlands.
Now the Farlands are...not good, I'll tell you that. It is mildly a WIP for me, but essentially they look like a very irregular land terrain that reaches extremely high altitudes, possibly higher than any other landform in Geometrika. They are heavily dangerous lands, lurking with beastially gigantic wild monsters of all kinds and size, heavy and VERY unfriendly climate, ready to devour every passing traveler, and extremely ancient ruins, structures, heck even machines somehow...
As one might be able to tell, the Farlands are vast lands full of history to be told, yet they have become dead waste due to tragedies that have happened over time. A former batch of civilizations with potential far beyond measurable, now turned wasteland due to reasons yet to be explained...
A good plentiful of the shapes that do inhabit the Farlands are also corrupts, likely the majority of them.
As mentioned previously, the Trig Tree provides sustenance and life to the entire world of Geometrika. The Farlands are...literally far away from the Tree, in fact, so far away that the land has grown dead and dim due to such.
Lastly I would have to finish off Geometrika geography by explaining the Space Civilizations, but due to that being a heavy WIP, I'll leave that for another moment ^^; In any way, with these final locations, this finishes section 1 of the Geometrika lore, the geography! In the next post I'll introduce the next section :3
