watching westworld in bits makes me feel bad because..........hm. is it because it would make me feel bad if i watched it in full or does it make me feel bad because i watch only tiny bits
hayley kiyoko loves making out/flirting with girls in videos huh. i think that’s great, but also hilarious. but also great hahaha
and she loves dance stalking. i like that
also uh those camera movements are exceptional. but tbh the first song n vid was the best
aww. that was cute.
Ananke is such a bitch let’s be real.
idk man i don t usually say that kinda thing but if this pantheon is such a mess, then SHE made it.
NOOOOOO NOT MINERVA. WHY MUST THE GOOD ALWAYS DIE FIRST?????
can’t believe i knew ananke was fucking evil from the start
but of course she had good reason because blah blah four at least need to die to stave off the darkness or whatever.
ok so ananke is homura but with less hangups about straight up killing people, and also less concerned with one person, more concerned with the DARKNESS
like wow that one speech really put all of it in perspective. i guess she did really try
‘uh you killed her family’ LIKE HELLO LADY, IF YOU JUST FUCKING DIDN”T MURDER EVERYBODY’S FAMILIES MAYBE they wouldn’t destroy shit
but cassanddra pls cassandra you CAN SAVE US. no it was Baal. I love Baal again
fucking hell persephone laura, you’re a fucking idiot. like. jfc. i guess ananke was right. quite hate her right now
thin ice
capaldi’s doctor is so.........arrogant. so...cold. Bill being upset about a person dying, that’s normal. He doesn’t appreciate her for her humanity, her empathy and fresh view on what is normal for him, he tells her to stop it.
that’s....i hate that
and i think it’s stupid they had him gain 1100 years in a damn montage
like seriously? he went through the same amount of years in one regeneration that he had in 10 ? come on
and he doesn’t even tell the boy’s closest what’s happened. distracts them. shitty
also the girl... who plays Kitty is eXTremely pretty.
How is Bill convinced of the Doctor helping people? why does she KNOW this so intrinsically? she hasn’t actually seen it much
‘and you? what do you do? apart from shouting at him?’
Is the narrative seriously even using Kitty as a mouthpiece to criticise Bill’s response to the death of a kid? Did she sign up for fixing people’s troubles? no. she signed up to see the universe.
so Bill’s learned that she needs to ‘move on’ from a kid dying. OK????
How th ehell did they get back up in those diving suits and why didn’t they get eaten lol.
anyway that WAS a great speech, about the value of a life, and the value that an age or society or civilisation or species ascribes to every life. great stuff. I just kinda wish that the emotional response to the loss of such a life hadn’t been so disdained. felt empathy - even uncontrolled - remains an important part of humanity.
it’s good that he totally lost his cool though. after such a buildup
racism and classism explicitly condemned, whitewashing, pointed out, well done.
hah, the villain knows he hasn’t got an ounce of compassion? weird
so the doctor kills someone, Bill is upset, good continuity.
hm so he brings Bill along so she can decided for all of humanity? ‘i serve at the pleasure of the human race. give me an order’ WHAT. WHAT’S HAPPENED TO THIS ALIEN???
I only now realised that Bill was supposed to be a narrative contrast to Lord Sutcliffe in that she prioritised the life and happiness of a human-eating giant fish over the nebulous ‘progress’ of crunching people up. But that moment of decision - Bill’s conflict in this episode wasn’t really set to be about that until that moment.
And the Doctor called Bill ‘Boss’. hmmmm
this is actually an interesting dynamic to set up... AND a good attempt at righting the ‘formal’ power dynamics of teacher-student
This episode actually had lots of good elements but I feel like they didn’t quite come together well entirely. It was messy but it was well done
i think it’s hilarious that there’s apparently a manhunt underway for Sun but she just walks around in plain daylight with her hair and face the same, hanging out in all the places she might obviously go like that one friend she possesses and her father’s grave. the only one looking for her in these places is just one cop though? xD
also the inconsistencies from season 1 to season 2 really kill me.
especially when it comes to Capheus.
and also sun seems to cry in every scene about her, at least six times in a row.
LITO. GOD. his story is just - like gut-icing.
WOOJIN IS SO WORTHY!!!
and now Lito and Sun in the same visiting!!! YES!!! hahahaha she just absolutely ‘privacy respected’ hahahaha falls onto her bed crying. my two favs. SHE HAS ZERO PATIENCE HSKLFJSDF. i m actually glad for how that ended. she reminded him of what he had, and he encouraged her to express grief.
what’s interesting is that Lito’s not told his family about being sensate and i didn’t even realise.
I kNOW Lito’s episode of walking around in a onesie all depressed is sad and he does deliver on that! when he threw the dvd away but it is also most of the time very funny haha.
ok so why did Lila’s whole cluster decide to make an enemy of Wolfgang’s whole cluster? could have just left him the fuck alone
i LIKE that things aren’t obvious? WERE they going to be executed by the other group? WAS John the murderer? WHY did Axel even lie about the content of the file? these are good ones, because they make you doubt your perception about characters and choices
WHERE are all the soldiers at the base and Catherine’s sister?? WHY were they in the freezer? WHY were there such high radiation levels? WHY did Sam get locked up by the commune dude when it seemed to not have anything to do with the other shit going on? WHY does Theo the man-god exist? HOW did ‘Flesh’ get so quickly turned into a cultist?
These start turning into plot holes
WHY did Doc want to turn back into a vampire when her time as one apparently wasn’t particularly fun. Yeah, fear, guilt, remorse, rejection, loss, pain. All terrible things to deal with...like it’s understandable. But uh. Like it’s still within parameters for sure but.
WHY does Sheama do ANYTHING she does? WHO is she? WHY does she co-operate when she seemed to want to help the resistance? this is a major characterisation hole.
they say it needs to learn
and they teach it: eat humans all you want do it we’ll deliver them to ya here you go
kill and treat people like food no worries
that’s what you want to teach your super-intelligent highly dangerous to humans super-organism?? what FUCKIN IDIOT!!!!!
still not sure of Miller’s attachment to Julie. Still not sure what Holden’s breakdown was about making mister spymcspy die on Eros. maybe it’s more explicit in the book or maybe im not while male enough? like im seriously considering this. i gotta find an analysis somewhere.
my fav char is actually AMOS interesting right. he’s an interesting guy. I also like Naomi a whole lot. THen Miller. Miller is compelling for some reason. Alex is alright. Holden is alright. like... he was more interesting when i could still follow what was going on his head but he was heading for a serious breakdown, like. i’d like an analysis. or i.e. i should read the book
