I'm very behind because I stopped three times to make cups of tea but it is greatly disappointing that we didn't get to see more of William and Kate during Your Song because that was supposedly their first dance

Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee
Today marks the start of the celebration for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, a celebration of the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne in 1952.
Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. Although her accession to the throne was in February 6, 1952, her coronation was not held until June 2, 1953, out of respect for the passing of her father and predecessor King George VI. The celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee begin today, June 2, on the anniversary of the Queen’s coronation.
In observation of the celebration, this broadside “Lines on the Occasion of the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II” by Kenneth Hopkins was published in 1953 as part of Everybody's Weekly’s June 13, 1953 Coronation Number. Our edition of it is simply a one-sheet broadside of that poem, signed by the poet. Kenneth Hopkins (1914-1988) was a British poet, author, educator, editor, publisher, and contributor. His papers are held at University of Texas at Austin Harry Ransom Center.
Happy Platinum Jubilee to Queen Elizabeth II! May all who care to, have a nice time celebrating.

Regional calendar
So, it seems I *LOVE* making all kinds of small projects outside my actual game! I’m eager to get started with my year 223, so I don’t really understand why I felt it was more important to create a regional calendar for keeping track on jubilees and anniversaries... I suppose I’m just afraid any of my nobilities should miss a public engagement or a celebration in general. I’m still quite new to thinking representation and local engagements from noble sims. I had dukes in there for ages, but they mostly minded their own business.
Well, here is my calendar, of course not readable. Basically there’s one column per district (world), and I simply plotted in founding and openings of some community lots (museums, schools, hospital, lighthouse, churches etc), and then their jubilees of 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 years. I also added anniversaries for introduction of each peerage, and the wedding anniversaries for the current couples.
So, hereafter no noble house can find any good reason for not celebrating and also inviting noble guests for the event! :)
the queen and paddington bear are the duo i never knew i needed 🥲
I can't remember who said this but after the 2012 Olympics appearance a blogger here or one of her family in a documentary or someone said that when they watched her improvise and not immediately turn around when Bond walked in they realised "oh the Queen is acting" and this reminded me of that. It will definitely be mentioned in the podcast later this week
Just saw a clip from TTC of Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte waving at William as they’re carriage went by him entering horse guards. It was really sweet.
Having the kids involved always leads to instant cuteness, they are so sweet!
I thought about you when I saw Wolfie there this weekend! So lovely that the fam accepts him and that Bea and Edo felt comfortable bringing him!
Aww that's sweet that you thought of me! It was really lovely to see him. It means a lot to me as a step child/step relative myself to see Wolfie included. I wouldn't have seen it as a snub if he hadn't gone - his parents have made deliberate choices to keep him out of the spotlight and I totally respect that - but it was really sweet that everyone agreed he should be at this special occasion. Also, having never seen his face before, he is an absolute little button!
