Jules Dapper, creator of Daisy Brown and Echo Rose, has made me love this book I’ve never read so much that I wish it had a fandom
I think this book/review video actually just changed my life dude, Jesus Christ.
Here's the summary of the book being reviewed, called The Divine Farce:
Three strangers are condemned to live together in darkness, crushed together in a concrete stall so small that they can never sit down. Liquid food drips down from above. Waste drains through a grid on the floor. So begins one of the strangest, most surreal comments on the human experience, on love and hatred and the human ability to find good in any situation, no matter how difficult. Michael S. A. Graziano delights in the macabre and surreal, yet it is his optimism that lifts this little novel.
I've been in a pretty bad place mentally/emotionally lately and this video genuinely hit me like a bolt of lightning last night. You really should go in blind, but I will say that the book and the review video are, at their core, a love letter to humanity and our unparalleled ability to bond, persevere, and hope.
If I haven't convinced you to watch this video, I at least want to leave you with its parting words: You have made it out of a dark, scary place that seemed impossible to escape before, and you WILL do it again!
New Blood Meridian Video Essay by a History/Horror/Booktuber I'm a fan of!
(Also, big fan of the editing in this)
If I had a nickel for every time I found someone on YouTube and got really into watching their catalogue of work because it was genuinely interesting and funny and creative and then i finally subscribed to them and THEN found out they were actually behind an analog horror/arg that i really like
I would have 2 nickels
Cringetober day 27: YouTuber Fanart
daisy brown is so funny to remember nowadays because the creator behind it (jules dapper!) has been one of my favourite youtubers ever since she started posting and i do often forget she's made countless unfiction projects until i remember they exist again and all i can think is "wow daisy sure does seem like she loves an obscure shoujo manga series and wearing trad goth makeup!"
to make things better my favourite project of hers in her youtube channel is a video series where she and her dad (who voiced curtis brown) just act silly and goof around with each other. like ohhh alright #kayfabe!
