Dagur the Deranged!!! +some headcannons;
-for those who dont know, a bronco buster is someone who breaks horses. the practice is quite cruel, often they physically exhaust the horse by keeping it moving, and refuse it food and water until the horse becomes submissive, not because it respects you but because it has no fight left
- when he was young, Dagur’s job was a bronc rider, so bro just jumps into the saddle of a wild horse and tries not to get bucked off, the aim is to hold on as long as possible
- he’s damn good at it too; is how he got his title, Dagur could hold on even if his nose started bleeding and his legs went raw from having the skin scraped off. He got considerable scars from it, as he rarely taps out, if ever. Honestly he probably liked the pain/thrill of almost dying a lotttt of the time
- and he was probably laughing like a maniac throughout the process 😅 hence the title “Deranged”
- during his redemption arc Hiccup would help him train Shattermaster, an unassuming pony 🐴
- even after his redemption there are still moments where he has to wrangle with horses/other animals and you can still see that crazy in his eyes light up
-ofc Dagur would learn to love Shattermaster and have a deep regret of his past
- do NOTTTT give this guy a gun, even after he’s redeemed
- his plan after finding Heather is to go back to his town, Berserk
