So I have a technical question about the show that I’m hoping you can help me with (I’m working on a fic, and I need clarification on something). When the fire truck gets blown up in 2x18, was the bomb inside/strapped under the truck already and then had a delayed detonation, or was it like planted in the street somewhere waiting for the 118 truck to pass over it? I’ve watched the episode multiple times but it’s still unclear to me. Maybe I’m just missing something?
Hi Nonnie! And thank you for the interesting question. I believe that the show never makes it clear, so for your fic purpose you can go with either! As a fellow fic writer, I know the need to be as close to canon as possible, so I’ll add that I personally would assume Freddie somehow managed to plant the bomb on the truck. One reason is my experience of living in a country that used to be plagued by suicide bombings and what I can say based on that is that most primitive bombs like the ones Freddie is most likely to be building usually work like that. The other is that, as difficult as we can imagine it would be for Freddie to get into the station and plant the bomb on the truck, placing it somewhere on a busy road and hoping the truck would pass over the bomb, when Freddie couldn’t know for sure that it would, plus how he would need some sort of surveillance equipment to follow the truck and make sure it’s the right one passing in the street over where the bomb is planted... and how would he know there would be no other car to accidentally trigger the bomb if it’s planted in the street...? Basically, more logical problem with that scenario than the other one. I hope this helps and good luck with your fic! xoxox

Just read your meta for 413 and I'm convinced that there's a reason that Buck's in his civilian clothes. They could have so easily had him and Chimney dressed for work when they got the call from Charlie. But no, Buck's in street clothes and Chimney changed into his uniform. Because at the moment of the shooting, Buck isn't in the role of firefighter. He's in the role of bystander calling 911 to save the person he loves.

That Buck was the only one there out of the team, that he was in his civvies, that he didn’t have to accompany Eddie to this place (like Chim didn’t), that everything Buck will do, he will do not because of his duties as a firefighter, but because his relationship with Eddie matters so much to him. Eddie being the one to have his feelings realization first and be pining has come as a surprise to a lot of us. Do you think this is a possibility for season 5? I think a lot of next ep is going to determine just what that “follow your heart” is about.
Nonnie, I agree, I always thought it would be Buck who realizes his feelings first, If that’s what we get, Eddie being the first to realize he’s got feelings for his best friend would be quite surprising. I keep going back and forth, because the narrative so far sure seems to be building towards that, but at the same time, going on the promo, ep 414 seems to be more from Buck’s POV than from Eddie’s, so... You know what? I kind of want them both realizing their feelings and both pining away and both being too dumb to realize it’s mutual. How fucking awesome would that be? Not likely, but I would love it SO MUCH. And of course, we know promos can be deceiving, so I’m over here, eyes wide open and trying not to count the seconds until the next ep, because I really can’t wait to see them showing us how they planned to wrap up Buck’s unresolved storyline with Taylor and Eddie’s “follow your heart” moment regarding Ana... I love your metas, so after the recent episode (*brain's still processing*) I noticed how the showrunners put Bobby's and Athena's dispute about partners right before THAT scene? I found it odd until I got that Bobby talked about work AND life partners. It's placement it's kind of odd, story writing wise UNLESS you put Buck and Eddie in another and new kind of light.

Calm down, he's scheduled to appear in the next movie. all this talk is just smoke screen.
...I mean, okay, but:
a. there is no information about how much/what role he’s going to play in the next movie - technically, he was in this one, for a whole five minutes before being brutally killed off with what was arguably a cinematically unnecessary amount of violence
b. even if they bring him back in the next movie it still happened in this one, and odds are high that he’s probably going to stay dead post phase 3
c. smokescreen or not, everything that’s being said by people about it is still obnoxious as hell (this specific post isn’t even specifically about the filmmakers so much as the responses of viewers)
d. speaking as someone who has repeatedly talked about how obnoxious the idea that there’s nothing to be done with a villain post-redemption is, I really...this isn’t just something to do with loki but rather a general narrative cop out
e. honestly I’m reacting kind of poorly to that “calm down”, it’s a little condescending and I don’t appreciate it

This is a sequel to this prompt, set after Meta Fiction (except Gabriel stuck around with Cas in this version)
‘I don’t… Sam, there isn’t really anything I can say to excuse what I did,’ Gabriel looked down at his feet instead of at Sam.
‘You could start with “I’m sorry,”’ Sam glared at him, eyes bright and shiny with the tears that hunter and angel alike were doing their best to ignore.
Gabriel shoved his hands into his pockets. ‘I did what I did for a reason,’ he snapped back. ‘I wasn’t trying to hurt you, Sam.’
‘What do you call it, then?’ Sam snapped, more angry than disappointed now. ‘Did you think I’d never find out? Did you think I wouldn’t care that you-’
‘I thought you were dead.’
Sam’s jaw muscles flexed. ‘We haven’t exactly been laying low, the last few years.’
‘Well, I have! I was resurrected, and you’d gone and jumped into the fucking cage. What was I supposed to do, go back to being a Trickster? Go back to Heaven? I wanted to get away. Away from the planet where everything reminded me of you. So I left. And by the time I looked back, it had been years.’
‘So you couldn’t have come back, once you found out I was alive?’ Sam’s tone is hard as flint. Gabriel doesn’t dare look up and meet his eyes, though he’d hoped his explanation would have softened the man a little.
‘As I said, Sam. Years. By the time I knew you were alive… You’d moved on. You had a girlfriend and a fucking dog. You were happy. Without me.’
Sam closed his eyes for a minute. When he opened them they were still shiny with unshed tears. ‘So you thought that meant I wouldn’t want to know you were alive?’
Gabriel’s face twitched. ‘I thought you could do without your old life popping back up and trying to drag you back, yes.’
They didn’t look at each other for a long few minutes, both men trying to get their emotions under control.’
Finally, Sam looked up. The tears had finally spilled over. He met Gabriel’s eyes and the angel made an aborted movement towards his former lover.
‘You still should have told me,’ Sam said.
Gabriel nodded, once, jaw clenched. He turned and walked towards the motel door where Castiel was waiting.

Any clue if you now of a similar thing existing for the DC Universe, Bat Family especially? I know my way around Marvel but DC? I'm already content if you could point me into the right direction.
