Calling all studyblrs!

Hey y’all! I know it’s been an extremely hot minute since I’ve last posted anything, but now that everything has settled down for me, I’m ready to return to the community once and for all. I’m planning to make a post soon, but bcs of my absence, I’m following a lot of inactive people so I’ve decided to go on a following spree these next few days so if you’re an active studyblr of any kind (langblr, medblr, lawblr, etc) or an art, history, or minimalist account, please like/reblog this so I can check out your blog and follow you! the APPLE method : tips for self-discipline

💌 AWARENESS

identify the difference between your current and ideal priorities. be honest with yourself. if it helps, keep record of the time you actually spend studying vs. reading for pleasure vs. watching tv, for example. is your routine effective for what you need to accomplish?

💌 PLAN

for each ideal priority, create 2 goals focusing on them:

e.g. priority: coursework

❣️goal #1: write 1 page / day

❣️goal #2: read for 15 min / day

💌 PRACTICE

set time limits, such as pomodoros (or just regular timers) at first. discipline is about endurance. you won’t be able work steadily for 2hrs or complete 5 tasks in a row at first. i spent this year building my attention span back (in the beginning, i couldn’t even read 10 pages without feeling exhausted). i started with 15 min of reading per day, and kept increasing it by 15 min increments until time no longer mattered.

💌 LEARN

after a month (minimum!), re-analyze your goals. are they working well for you? can you increase them, or add more for each priority? what habits have you changed / added? It took several months to get my attention span back to a decent place, but now i can sit through 3 hour classes attentively (the entire time), and read all day without tiring.

💌 EVOLVE

self-discipline allows you to create strong foundations for success. motivation is more like ‘how much can i do while this candle is burning’, and you never know how long the candle will burn. self-discipline is a steady supply of logs into a slow-burning fire. you’ll be able to feel confident tackling larger goals, and keep your responsibilities operating even if you don’t feel like it.

1. Why did you choose your url?

Because Basile's my name and the idea was that this is a studyblr and I was gonna be doing some studying... that didn't happen..i should change my url. But it's meant to be Basile's Study, as in this virtual office where i could study and just chill out. I still like the idea

Yes! I have one where i just reblog whatever i want, its mostly whatever artist i'm listening to atm though.... its @royallynotoverit !

oh boy i have no idea, 2018? I know its january 14 but if its 2018 or 2019 no clue

Nope! If I had to add a tag i would simply never reblog anything

To motivate me through college!

I just traced over a picture i took of myself i liked.

I fly planes and it's the sectional i used during my lessons so I thought it was fitting!

I think it's a dumb joke I made about writing essays in highschool vs college!

A cat friendly layout in memory of my 20-year-old childhood cat Sasha who passed away this weekend. I've been taking care of her hand and foot for the past few weeks, more so during the past week hence why I wasn't very active. :)

17. Tuesday, Sept. 15th: What is your study playlist?

- depends on my mood, but usually it’s between calming acoustics and kpop

18. Wednesday, Sept. 16th: Study Schedule!

- i actually don’t have one as I have two classes and not very much studying is needed. Mostly, I just prepare for class an hour or so before it and do the projects casually.

19. Thursday, Sept. 17th: How do you organize your to-do’s?

- i lay out my planner and then usually list homework due that week first than those due next week. I don’t tend to list my chores on my planner, but if I do its major cases. i also like to list my activities i my to-do list like if I have to go to the store or I’m seeing a friend!

20. Friday, Sept. 18th: Do you read motivational books?

- not really. I’m more into philosophical fiction and romances

End of week four Saturday, Sept. 19th: How did this week go for you?

- uh pretty shitty lol. My cat died today in my arms so...

End of week four Sunday, Sept. 20th: What is your plan for the upcoming week?

- i’m taking work off tomorrow for some TLC and then going about my everyday schedule with work and online schooling. Might meet a friend Thursday for brunch if I’m feeling up to it.

21. Monday, Sept. 21st: What do you do for your self care?

- the biggest thing for me is not feeling physically gross. if i let myself get into a funk where i don't shower or keep up with my routines, whether that be skincare or everyday chores, i’ll for sure slowly get worse mentally so i always make sure to keep up with those even, or especially, when i really really don’t want to. This question really fits this week as i’ve totally been wanting to just sleep the days away.
