guys i have too many wips and ideas and gaps in my posting schedule from september on. what better way than to poll which ones you would love to see this fall.

“why are you out here alone?” Jun's voice interrupts the silence of the night as he drapes a blanket around you. 

“just thinking,” you answer, staring at the night sky and pulling the blanket tighter around you.

“about?” his voice is quiet and soft as he settles down next to you on the cold floor of the balcony. 

you can't bring yourself to tell him. “just- in general.”

you feel jun's gaze on you and its a while before he lets out a soft sigh, smile on his face. “you're worried about tomorrow.”

it's not a question. but you're nodding anyway.

you bite your lip, “its a huge change.” your voice is quiet enough that jun has to concentrate to make out your words. 

“does it feel real now that I've moved in?” he's not looking at you, giving you some space and its such a subtle act; the way he cares for you that your heart twists miserably, yearning for him and in response your stomach somersaults. you don't know how you'll survive living with him when he does stuff like this, so casually. 

It suddenly registers in your mind that Jun's out here, in the cold, wearing only his pyjamas so you lift up one corner of the blanket absentmindedly, inviting him to share it with you. He raises an eyebrow, surprised and you gulp at his stare but you keep your arm raised, allowing him to shuffle closer so you can wrap the blanket around both your bodies.

“it does,” you whisper once he's settled next to you. you're quiet. so quiet that you're afraid the wind has carried your words and tucked them away in some corner of the world but then jun looks at you, small smile on his face and your heart's thumping harder now and your hands are sweaty and god you don't know what to do because the proximity- it's too less and too much all at once. 

you two sit there in the silence of the night, gazing at the stars until the silence gets too heavy for your poor heart to bear. 

“jun,” you whisper, afraid of breaking the fragile silence that has settled over the night. He looks at you questioningly. you gather your resolve and continue talking, keeping your gaze fixed on a faraway star, determined to not look his way.

“i just want to say, even though we're getting married tomorrow, i won't mind if you want to see other people.” Your throat feels like closing when you say the words but you grit your teeth and spit them out anyway. A pained expression passes over jun's face.

“what do you mean?”

you play with the frayed edges of the blanket. “I just wanted to let you know that it doesn't matter to me, you can see whoever you want.”

there's an expression on his face that you can't quite work out, but he leans closer and says, “do you want to see other people?” 

you look up at him, “what? of course not!”

he moves back to his original position, “well then neither do i. It's settled.”

You sigh. “It's different for me, hui. I'm just saying that you don't need to think that just because you have a wife, you can't find love. We're only married for convenience anyway.” 

jun hums, “why is it different for you?” 

And maybe it's the way he's less than five centimetres away from you, or maybe its the way he's staring at you or maybe it's the intimacy of that moment or maybe you've just had enough but in one short sentence, your secret is spoken into the night and carried away by the wind. “Because, i'm marrying the person I love and you aren't.” 

Jun stares at you but you're embarrassed now and so you continue to avoid his gaze.

“Nie-”

Please don't pity me. You stare at the floor.

“hey,” he grabs your chin and tilts your face up to meet his gaze, his thumb just barely hovering over your cheek, “who the fuck told you that i wasn't in love with you?”

“I- what?” you're unsure whether he just said what you think he said, since you can't really focus because of the way he's holding your face and the way his other hand is clutching the blanket, making sure you aren't exposed to the cold weather. 

He's staring at you, exasperated but his smile is blinding and he's leaning in and brushing a few strands away from your face.  “I've loved you ever since I met you, you idiot.”

It takes a while for this to settle in your head but he's already tugging you closer, his touch so soft, so gentle and he's rubbing his thumb over your knuckles while his other hand is cupping your face as if you're some fragile snowflake which might melt in his hands. he's looking at your lips and he's leaning closer and closer and- he stops. right before his lips brush yours. You look up at him, and hes still cupping your face, thumb brushing over your cheek but he doesn't move an inch. allowing you to make the first move and you follow through. You press your lips against his, softly pecking him. He smiles, pulling away and brings you closer towards him, arm over your shoulder as he presses a soft kiss onto your temple while you lean your head on his chest, his arms wrapped around you, protecting you from the dropping temperature. The two of you stare at the sky again but this time with soft smiles on your faces and arms wrapped around each other. 

“FUCKING FINALLY!”

Again and Again

You and Jun are lying on the couch, you don't really pay attention to the show that is currently playing on the tv. Jun doesn't too, he never does because he's too busy looking at you. And its when you meet his eyes that he tries to not-so-subtly direct his gaze back to the TV screen. You smile at his antics.

After a few hours, you end up subconsciously-ing tracing random figures into his bicep and he doesn't pay that much mind until he does.

"Honey you just traced "help" onto my arm," he jokes only to be met with your unfocused expression. Your clearly thinking about something, something that is distracting you from him.

"Oh? It's nothing..." you snap back into reality before your mind can wander again.

"You sure? You can always tell me anything." He questions genuinely trying to prod at your problem without being too pushy. He knew that you tended to close yourself off whenever problems arised.

"I.. it's just, work has been so hard junnie." You complain letting out a defeated sigh. It's in that sigh that he hears your pure unfiltered exhaustion, you almost fooled him with how well you were hiding it these past weeks.

He looks at you with a genuine expression. "Mind telling me what happened during work?"

"It's my boss, he's asking me to do unpaid over time. Company's low on staff or some-" You mumble before he shushes you, a finger now resting on your lips.

"Did you try talking to him about how unfair it is? I mean it's his fault for not having enough money to hire more people," He begins slowly but he stops after seeing your tired expression.

"Okay okay, I'll talk to your boss about it, is that better?" He suggests before you shut him down instantly with an almost-aggressive head shake.

"Fine fine, I'll write you an email for you to send to him. No physical contact, is that okay?" He confirms with you, before you give him a hesitant nod of your head.

It's that small action that makes you fall in love with your boyfriend again and again.
