Pressure sometimes got the best of everyone, let alone stress and other causes that could be endlessly named effortlessly. Those same reasons that could be called out as the lack of affection for one’s significant other wasn’t exactly something the female wasn’t used to. Junhwe was sometimes very affectionate, most of the time that is but whenever he was mad, sad or tired, his temper got down to all the bones in his body. He was frustrating up to some point but she knew what she was signing up for when she agreed to be with him and that kept the female awake in this nightmare like days.
‘’You should eat something.’’ the female whispered to the male who was staring at the movie quietly even if he wasn’t paying attention to what the characters were doing, much less to the small flaws he usually pointed out just to annoy his girlfriend. He was in his own world; he wasn’t even ignoring her, he was thinking and inside his brain, there was a huge mess - a mess he couldn’t organize no matter how hard he tried. Maybe it was because he was tired or maybe because he was mad over some sleepless nights; all the reasons counted.
‘’Junhwe, did you hear me?’’ the female frowned, knowing that her boyfriend was just not in the mood for talking - she was understanding to the point she didn’t force him to talk or nagged at him for not talking, she was giving him time to think. He’d eventually come around and talk to her if there was the need to therefore, she let him be. But one thing was for sure, he was not responding for food and that meant it was worse than what she was thinking.
The sight of a crystal drop of water rolling down his features made the female stop everything. Her brain focused on that short yet so heavy packed demonstration of feelings; words were useless and maybe Junhwe wouldn’t find the right ones to expose to her what was going on. She went quiet, feeling her heart race as this was the first time ever her boyfriend cried in front of her, him who always seemed the one putting up with her tears was now crying, allowing her to take his role and she didn’t know how to accept it.
His eyes closed slowly, allowing a couple more to join the lonely tear racing down his cheek now near his mouth. Even though the taste of those tears was no other than salty, it was nothing compared to the taste of his feelings, the bitter ones he always seemed to keep for himself in order not to hurt the ones surrounding him.
His girlfriend shifted a bit in the couch, moving to straddle him as she sat over his lap, forcing his eyes to focus on her. In that short moment, no words were traded; he was glad the female understood that he didn’t want to talk, not in that moment. His eyes were kept on hers but hers glared at the tears, those one hundred percent pure feelings he was expelling from his body; those didn’t fit his features in her opinion, they were like attention seekers, wanting her to focus on them and that was just not what she wanted.
With these thoughts, her hands carefully took away the tears, a soft smile rushing to her lips as her hands cupped her boyfriend’s cheeks; the bags under his eyes were gently caressed by her thumbs, letting him know she cared for him more than he could ever tell. His body responded to the touch; his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer as if she wasn’t close enough. His brain thought of justifying his tears to her so his lips parted to call out a couple words but the female pressed a gentle kiss to his lips, pulling away not long after. ‘’Before you blame it on the comedy we were watching, get yourself to calm down, hm?’’ she chuckled quietly, tilting her head slightly just to sigh quietly as she wanted him to calm down first.
The male snorted quietly, shaking his head slowly as for some reason her words were enough to bring his mood up, even if just the slightest; he was thankful to have her fooling around like she did. His fingers intertwined behind her back, giving her space to move freely in his lap but the female kept her upper body close to his like her life depended on it - he didn’t mind as it was just nice having her like that, close to him.
Her lips pecked his cheek gently before she pulled away to look at his features ‘’If you want to talk about it, I’m here’’ she let him know, watching him nod his head once as he sniffed quietly. The male wasn’t fully recovered but having her there with him at least was all he could ask. He felt like his worries were slowly fading from the clouded thoughts his brain insisted to keep inside his mind.
‘’I swear to god, sometimes I hate you so much.’’ he whispered after a couple more minutes, watching a soft smile grow over the female’s lips - she knew exactly what he meant with those words and it didn’t make her feel offended, the slightest ‘’I love you too, mister sulky’’
