Whenever I think of David’s parents I just know

1- Gabe cried nonstop on David’s first day of school

2- his mom cried nonstop on David’s first birthday

anyway I wish we know more about them too 🥲

i just know that david had the stiffest upper lip the whole day. when gabe went to pick him up, his teacher does the whole, "he did such a wonderful job! we had a lot of fun today." and david nods as solemnly as a five year old can. but when they get to gabe's truck and he goes to help david into his seat, he clings to his dad for all he's worth

AND HIS MOM UGH YES. no matter the context, there's no actual manual for raising a child. you are its source of everything for such a long time. i think she half cried out of joy and half out of relief that they had done it for a year already

i just went to a wonderful production of the 25th annual putnam county spelling bee

so now of course i am thinking of a high-school or even college au with redacted characters/listeners as cast and crew

and of course more than a couple of showmances

i love having my hcs for the character and listener appearances be comic book characters

every time i read i go "there's treasure! and there's baaabe! and there's alexis and lovely and freelancer and blah blah blah blah!"
