RIP Junko Ohashi
RIP Junko Ohashi, who passed away from cancer a few days ago at the age of 73. In some of the city pop circles I hover around we all rightfully call her the City Pop Queen because she truly was. Telephone Number was probably her most famous song amongst most people, and is probably the first song of hers you heard:
My favorite song of hers though is Postcard Fantasy, just an absolutely insane bop and one of my first go-to examples of stuff to give a listen to if you want to give city pop a try.
Just so good, she was such an incredible talent and I'm glad the city pop renaissance meant more people go to learn about her. RIP Junko Ohashi.
