“Disappointed yet?” . . .
Sigma wasn’t exactly sure what he was getting himself into by asking to come and see Phi; his... his daughter. The word was still so foreign to him, even after all these years in this consciousness. In addition, it wasn’t the fact that he had children, but the circumstance around it: tossing both Phi and her brother into other histories and praying to a God he never believed in to begin with that the two of them would be okay.
He had to practically abandon them to save them. In one sense, it was the only way. In another, he’d never forgive himself.
And so, stepping though that threshold, and taking the cool glass of water in hand, Sigma knew his time in this history, in this moment, was limited, as he’d probably awake one day soon enough back on Rhizome-9; any and all chances to make amends, grow closer, whatever--to Phi would be eliminated for good.
Drawing in a breath, Sigma continued to gloss over her humble abode. A fine living space, nothing too over-zealous or flashy. “No, I like it.” He finally spoke, continuing to look around, “It’s much nicer than what I used to have, honestly...” The slightest of smirks played on his lips, thinking back to his youth and how his own apartment was an absolute mess or trash, papers and cat food in comparison to this. “...At least there’s no cat hair getting into your food here. That would be paws-itivly horrible...”
