Trump is trying to shut down a lot of DEI programs, and my mom's job might be impacted. So she may lose it sometime this year.
She's already asked my aunt in Canada if I can go stay with her if things get really bad. She said yes.
I don't want to leave, really. I don't think we're to the point where I should yet, but I don't want to anyways. I have friends, a career path, a life here. I never wanted to stay in the US forever really, but I didn't want to leave now. I have too much on the line to feel okay with leaving now. I need at least two years to try and do this program, and I just wish it would be safe enough to stay and do it here. But I don't know if it will be.
