Ride or Die may be about Octavia Spencer discovering her best friend rather than her wife of 20 years is an international woman of mystery/assassin, which is a shame, but every single woman being deeply and devastatingly competent while the most plot relevant men fumble their way through is it’s own kind of sapphic and/or feminist victory for me personally.
