I've noticed a growing trend online of people stereotyping nonbinary people by their birth gender and it is annoying the fuck out of me. Why are we reinventing gender essentialism/stereotypes. Why are we splitting the category that is literaly [undefined] and defining it in terms of male/female.
I more or less present masculine in my day-to-day, and i've gotten it in my head that that makes me less non-binary somehow, that I'm just a cis guy in a trenchcoat, but like. Fuck that.
Non-binary isn't "theymab/theyfab" (horrible dogshit terminology) it's not (exclusively) white femmes (no offense to nonbinary white femmes- it is just often the only nonbinary representation in popular media) and it's not woman+. god
