like the echoes of the waterfall
that can be heard far through the trees
at a distance from which i miss.
the sight of these mighty rocks
your luscious hazel locks,
vibrant, earthy yet all over the place
just like the dimples on your sun-kissed face
i tell myself that i’ve been blessed
to be able to love you at your very best
i remember our trail and our little quest
admiring the beauty of mother nature’s mess
ever so often as you lie on my chest
i’d patiently listen as you complain out of stress.
because you’re no longer here
the birthday card you’ve written me
has been my only souvenir
there’s so much pain to endure
but you’ve given me a chance to mature
yet sometimes i can’t comprehend the fact how
of how you could be ever so selfish
to think that you’d be happier among the fish
as they saw you resting in the pool
of our favourite waterfall
as mother nature wrapped you with
her cold, yet loving arms
until you decided your time was up
you took a breath for the very last time
her water overflowing your lungs
you ended it all with a brave soul so young
finally, once and for all
