Vegan Shami Kababs
Lamb boti kebab is a mouthwatering Indian delicacy. Tender chunks of lamb are marinated in a rich blend of spices, including ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, and yogurt. Served with a side of mint chutney and freshly squeezed lemon, lamb boti kebabs are a perfect balance of spicy and tangy, making them an irresistible treat for meat lovers.

P?átelé - Irena Sarplaninac
Miznon, 317 S Broadway, Los Angeles (Downtown), CA 90013
Miznon opened in May of this year, taking over the old Sari Sari Store space inside Grand Central Market. The owners opened Miznon in Tel Aviv, then NYC, and now LA. It is inspired by Israeli street food. The menu includes pita sandwiches stuffed with falafel, cauliflower, mushrooms, egg, steak, schnitzel, etc., vegetables , plates, salads, falafel, etc. Prices are higher and portions are smaller, though it’s a casual eatery.
Rotisserie broken chicken ½ pita sandwich: tahini, za’atar, spicy green peppers, scallions ($18.50 regular price): I don’t think they make their own pita, but it’s thick, soft, and fluffy. The pita was cut in half and stuffed with rotisserie chicken, lots of charred scallions, and topped with tahini, and a bit of zhoug (spicy chunky cilantro sauce). Tahini was served on side, along with a roasted pepper. The chicken is similar to shawarma but not as heavily spiced. It wasn’t that tender but the skin was a bit crispy. The sandwich was good but I wanted more zhoug and something besides chicken and scallions (I’d prefer pickles).
Order at the counter and they’ll bring your food to you. I went during Restaurant Week, so they had a special of a pita sandwich and a drink for $15.
The other Israeli places that I’ve been to give you plenty of food. Miznon gives you half a pita sandwich. Tel Aviv gives you a whole pita sandwich. Limited counter seating is available. Parking is difficult in this area, unless you park in a garage.
There's a frequent buyer card for the pita sandwiches.
